Yesterday,
little_turkey and I went to pick our own strawberries. We're both members of the same CSA, and as part of our share, we get 10 pints each.
All in all, a great trip to the Valley. Excellent vegan pad thai in Amherst. Then we launched ourselves into a crazy strawberry patch. The berries were all perfectly ripe. It was kind of insane. (Also, we picked some peas.) We got in the car just as the storm clouds started rolling in. Then, I of course got us lost on the way home, but that's not really surprising.
little_turkey was a good sport about it.
I don't know if you know this, but ten pints is a lot of strawberries. Thankfully, five of mine are going to my friend Judy, who's splitting the share with me. But as of now, two pints have been cut up, one is being frozen, and two are kind of...hanging out. All of Judy's are awaiting my delivery to her later this afternoon. I never thought I would be overwhelmed by strawberries, but I kind of am.
