On Batman RIP, Last Rites, and Final Crisis

So Batman RIP is supposed to link directly with Final Crisis, the day evil won.

Batman #683 finally clears things up about what happened to Bats at the end of RIP: he survives the helicopter crash, goes back to the Batcave, and is contacted by the Justice League right away because of the murder of the New God, Orion.  As shown in FC, Batman was abducted by the new version of the god Granny Goodness--to be used as a template for a clone Bat-Army driven by pain and hopelessness.  And as seen in RIP, Batman's mind itself is a weapon.  The plot fails, and as shown in FC#5, the clones basically killed themselves because Batman's pain was too much for them.  And Batman escapes.

Which leads us back to #683 and FC#2: Batman keeps the God-Bullet that killed Orion for further study.  Unfortunately he was caught by Granny Goodness first.  But now that he's free, what if this scenario happens next:

Batman, the pinnacle of human achievement (and the most tortured human in the DC Universe) uses the God-Bullet on Darkseid.  Shoots him straight in the head.  Man killing a God.  (which will make for an awesome splash page, and which CAN be the defining moment of Final Crisis).  Bats, realizing that he is now officially a murderer (and of a god, to boot!), quits the cowl.

Which leads us to the Battle for the Cowl.

I'm not alone in that idea.  Thoughts, anyone? :)
