(no subject)
In my mind, Christmas is not just the 25th. That is the apex of Christmas, as we insist on identifying a specific day for celebrating birthdays and have the traditional present exchange on that day (although I know many families who do many / all of their presents on the night before.) No, I believe that Christmas, for me, is the entire time I get to spend with my family. Since I will be arrive tomorrow, that makes this Christmas Eve. Yay!
So, here's some random thoughts:
* Wow, the new season of O.C. is as good as it was in the first season!
* I've been playing World of Warcraft for over two years without a new expansion (yet) and I'm not only still into playing, I'm still going to places I've never been before.
* Of the consoles, I still play more Game Boy Advance than anything - Final Fantasy, Pokemon, Metroid, Zelda, Metroid, and other games I can't remember.
* I feel that this year I have both grown up in many ways, but part of that process was also discovering the ways in which I have not grown up yet either. I've got the career thing down, but career is not life, and several parts of my life need a bit of work - especially if I ever want to share it with someone.
* I rely less on my vices than I used to. I regularly take vitamins, more readily take medicine when I feel ill, and drink more water and non-caffeinated liquids.
* I still don't save like I need to.
* The end of the final O. C. of the season just ended - whoa, what an awesome "holy sh**" moment!
* Two years from now, people will accidentally be renting Showgirls instead of Dreamgirls, and vice versa. I look forward to the hilarity - although I doubt I will experience it firsthand.
* I still love to make lists.
* Whoa, O. C. doesn't really go on break - just a week off!
* I can't wait for shows to come back - Heroes, Studio 60, Lost, Smallville, Survivor, How I Met Your Mother, Veronica Mars.. probably some others I can't remember.
* I'm starting to get a little tired of games - that's probably a bad sign for a professional game designer. I'm hoping I'm just burned out a bit from the last few weeks of overwork. I just know that I'm having a lot more non-game ideas lately.
* One of the downfalls of being so into the NFL this year due to Fantasy Football is that, now that my fantasy season is over, I'm a little less interested than I should be when we're in such a big race for those Wild Card spots.
* I'm still not packed for tomorrow. I'm going to do that now.
