So Hopelessly In Love
With Amazon.com~! I know I say it a lot but that's how love is, man. That's how love IS. Let me summarize the most recent way in which Amazon.com has shown me it is kind and faithful to me.
Friday, January 23:
I go nuts looking for this book I need to read for a quiz today (the 26th). The school bookstore SHOULD have it for $88 bucks, maybe $68 or something used. It does not. I am bookless and in trouble. I had to hustle it out and beg people for help. I rush home and look the book up on Amazon.com. They have it new for $64 but it won't be in stock till the 27th. We have a quiz every Monday, so I need to make sure I have this book before February 2nd (I'm already screwed for the quiz on the 26th anyway and have to beg friends for help on that). I decide to get 1-day shipping just in case there are delays and because I'm so desperate. The thing says the book will arrive here on Thursday, January 29th.
Today:
I check my email and find an email from January 24th (I guess it fell under one of my filters) saying my order has shipped and will arrive on the 26th (today). And...my book just arrived. I guess maybe they had an extra one lying around? Still, that is CRAZY FAST. I mean, it still wouldn't have helped very much for the quiz because it's 3 chapters I had to read and class is in about 3.5 hours and I don't know that I can read and process all that information that quickly, but I am still seriously impressed.
And so, my relationship with Amazon.com is still going strong. I hope it never gives me up or lets me down or any of those other things. Um...I guess I better finish this homework that is also due in 3.5 hours.
