Anime Wars: A New Hope?
Ok, I think I have a thing for weepy guys lately. I really like Mihashi from Ookiku Furikabutte. It does not bother me at all that he cried in the first 3 episodes or something. I do not care that he is freakishly timid. And I like the background music in this series a lot. I don't know why. I don't know anything anymore! T_T And did I mention the art style? Cause I like the art style. I am mentioning it again.
Anyway, Ookiku Furikabutte is basically the tale of this shy kid named Ren Mihashi who was a pitcher at his cool old school that was owned by his grandpa or something. Apparently, he sucked (except he didn't, really) but he refused to step down, so his teammates hated him and bullied him so much that he lost all his confidence and got all depressed and decided to attend high school at this no-name public school. He winds up getting into the baseball team in that school cause he's the only pitcher that showed up and stuff, and the catcher guy can see that, GASP, he is actually a GOOD pitcher because of...some...baseball things I didn't really understand. His pitching is special, ok? And the catcher, Abe, also hates pitchers who are all assertive and stuff, so he is happy that Mihashi will do what he says.
...Ok, I made Abe sound bad, but he's a good guy, really! He helps Mihashi get some self-esteem and stuff and they male bond and it is all cute. Basically, where I am right now (episode 6), Mihashi can only pitch with Abe as his catcher because Abe knows how to read the enemy or something. DEEP STUFF!
The rest of the team is cool too. I thought I'd dislike Hanai but I like him a lot, and I like how they're all so encouraging with each other, saying "Nice pitching!" whenever Mihashi pitches and "Nice batting!" whenever anyone bats and so on. Even if they do something stupid, they still say "Nice _____!" and it is cute. I am tempted to say it to random strangers. Like, if someone presents in class, I want to go "Nice presenting!" even if their presentation sucked...but...then they might think I was being sarcastic and beat me up after school. UGH.
Anyway, the series is 26 episodes long, apparently, and I plan to watch it all if I can. Ahhh, I love these kinds of "slice of life" series or whatever. They're nice and relaxing. And it's been such a long time since I watched an anime (thatisnotYu-Gi-OhbecauseIhavenointerestinthat).
This is the opening, for anyone who wants to see it! I really like the song. Mihashi's the redheaded kid that is prominently featured (and cries, haah). Abe is the guy with the black hair that...oh, you'll know who he is. Teehee! Actually, they're in the picture up there, so...that's them. ^_^;
...Um...I guess I need an icon for this show now. NO ROOM! T_T THERE'S NO ROOM!
