I'm a Gentleman-Killer!
Oooh, I feel so bad... When I began to play Harvest Moon: Magical Melody I decided I would go after either Joe or Kurt because they were so cute. Then I saw Ray and I liked him too, but his favorite item is hard to get, as is Joe's, and so, eventually, I starting to focus just on Kurt (with a little bit of Alex wooing on the side).
My efforts paid off! After bribing him daily with tomato juice, Kurt began to realize what a wonderful woman I am and started blushing around me and junk. I actually married him in one of my files and I was a bit...underwhelmed. Maybe I didn't give him enough time to adjust to being married, but he was a very bland husband. So I decided to restart from my file before I married him and try with someone else (not that the others were guaranteed to be extremely lively or anything).
I tried Carl next (I had a lot of yams and Carl loves yams). I felt guilty about pursuing him because by the time I began working on Carl, I had already gone out with Kurt a bunch of times and even kissed him. But I did it anyway. After some time, Carl, too, began blushing around me and telling me how he wanted to bake me cakes for the rest of my life (aww). But...he seemed so young.
I didn't know what to do. Should I keep Carl or Kurt? Or should I hone in on someone else altogether? Then I saw it... On a message board at GameFAQs, someone said that Basil made a pretty nice husband. With nothing to go on but this small bit of information, I have decided to pursue Basil next (with Ray on the side; for some reason, I have lost all interest in Joe, maybe because he and Alex seem to be the most popular bachelors).
There's only one small problem in my plan. I HAVEN'T EVEN MET BASIL YET! *sob* It's been a year and I still haven't met Basil (or had Lyla move in either; I want pink yarn!). I sure hope he appears soon... The first winter is almost over. Maybe in the second spring...
My farm is progressing quite well! I got rich off of eggplants last fall, and then I tinkered around a bit with the game without saving (buying furniture, land, remodeling my house, etc). After much experimenting, I have decided I like my house the best at level 3 (because, for some stupid reason, you can't put your bed upstairs. I think a bed looks weird in the middle of the kitchen when it could very well be upstairs), and so I have kept the level 3 house with the red roof. Oooh, lemme introduce my farm!
