Facundo Arana is soooo coool~!
Man! He just keeps impressing me! He's such a good actor, at least in this show! Whenever he has a scene with Sol, I cry. Speaking of which, Daniela Mastrichio, who plays Sol, is REALLY good too. So heartbreaking~! I MUST document it in case I ever lose the tape... Rhiannon, if you ever loved me at all, YOU MUST READ IT AND GUSH WITH ME.
OK! So! Once upon a time there was a lady named Leticia who had a baby named Sol with a cute rich guy named Alejo. Alejo is an ambitious guy who is willing to do whatever it takes to get what he wants, and he never even knew he had a kid (I think). Anyway, Leticia was sick and she made her best friend, Belen, promise to take care of Sol. And then she died.
Now, I never saw the whole first two seasons of the show, so I'm not sure what happened in those, but Sol wound up in a sort of nicer version of an orphanage, with about 12 other girls or something. This orphanage was created because this other rich guy named Ramiro, who owned some sort of factory, had a daughter named Gabriela who got pregnant. He didn't want her to be a single mom, so he created this orphanage and put his granddaughter in it and it became an actual orphanage. But the granddaughter, Mili, doesn't know the TRUTH: that the nice, rich, depressive lady she likes so much is really her mom.
But that's not important to Sol. ANYWAY! In the first season, I do know that Belen worked in the factory owned by Gabriela's family, and that Gabriela's brother fell in love with her. Somehow, Belen became the director of the orphanage and she was the girls' guardian angel.
AND SHE WEARS NORMAL CLOTHES. And she is not anorexically thin! She's the heroine, and she has CURVES. I LOVE BELEN. She is our hero and mentor.
ANYWAY, back to Sol and Alejo. So in the third season, the kids had to move for some reason and they moved into this cute house owned by some guy named Pedro Vega. This guy kicked Belen out of her post and assigned this EVIL woman instead. Things were bad. Later, Belen was able to return working as a maid at the house, but the evil woman was horrible to her and mistreated her and made her sleep on the floor and junk.
Pedro Vega would come by to visit sometimes and he would berate the evil lady for mistreating the kids. Her orders were to mistreat BELEN and run her out of the house, not the kids. But the evil lady just hated kids, so she did it anyway. Which made Pedro mad, especially cause he was all like "DON'T YOU TOUCH SOL, MAN!"
And so later we find out that Pedro Vega was actually an impostor (there WAS a real Pedro Vega who did own the house, but he was overseas on business). It turns out that this impostor is actually Sol's real father, Alejo, who found out about Sol and wants her by his side. But Sol is attached to Belen, and so the only way for him to have her all for himself was to break Belen down and make her leave, breaking Sol's heart. He would then pick up the pieces and be her hero or something.
ANYWAY, he got found out and he became sort of a fugitive (but he's still rich! Ahaha). Belen told the kids what had happened (especially Sol, who had become friends with "Pedro").
OH! One more thing! @_@ Belen has a boyfriend named Facundo who is the orphanage's doctor. Facundo has a son from a previous relationship. Sol has seen Facundo as her father for a while and she was all jealous when his kid appeared (the two hate each other and fight over Facundo). Sol was sitting on the kitchen table going "That kid's gonna be my brother?? HECK NO AT ALL!"...
...when suddenly...a handsome arm put on her little pink sunglasses from behind. She turned around and the hand grabbed her chin and said "Please don't scream."
It was Alejo~! *_* And so, they went behind the house and had a conversation.
Alejo: First of all, I want to thank you so much for not leaving and for listening to me. That means that we are still friends.
Sol: *shyly* I...I can't be your friend anymore.
Alejo: How come?
Sol: Because you're bad.
Alejo: *sort of sad* How am I "bad", Sol?
Sol: You lied to me. You told me you were Pedro and you're not. You're someone else.
Alejo: *looks a little ashamed and nods* That's true. That's true. *holds out his hand* Well, Sol, I'm Alejo. Pleased to meet you.
Sol: *takes his hand shyly*
Alejo: And if I didn't tell you who I was before it was because if Belen found out I would have never been able to get close to you.
Sol: W...Why? Then who are you?
Alejo: *struggles internally* *pretty music plays ^_^;;* Sol...*sighs* I'm... *touches her hair* I'm your...*takes a deep breath* I'm a friend of your dad's.
Sol: *confused* You're Facundo's friend?
Alejo: *a little frustrated at hearing that she thinks of Facundo as her dad* No, no, no, I'm a friend of your dad's. Of your REAL dad.
Sol: *shocked* What do you mean? I don't have a dad.
Alejo: *still a little frustrated* Yes, Sol. Yes, you do have a dad. Belen just didn't tell you anything about him because she doesn't want you to meet him.
Sol: *tearful* You mean...I have a dad like the other kids??
Alejo: *hasn't let go of Sol's hand throughout all of this*Yes, sweetheart. You have a daddy. You have a father. But if you want to meet him someday, then I ask you to please tell no one about this. It has to be a secret. You must not tell ANYONE.
Sol: Please...I beg you, please let me tell Belen.
Alejo: No, no, no, Belen's the last person you could tell. Because if Belen finds out, she will never ever let you meet him.
Sol: She wouldn't do that... Belen's super nice!
Alejo: Sol, Belen is not the person you should be thinking about in this moment. You should be thinking about someone else.
Sol: Who?
Alejo: Leticia. *sniffs a little*Your mommy's name was Leticia, did you know? And I know she would have been very happy to have you meet your daddy.
Sol: Does my daddy...want to separate me from Belen?
Alejo: No, sweetie, your daddy doesn't want to separate you from anyone. He just wants you to be with the people you love and to hear from you a little, about what you've been doing, how you are... to have news about you.
Sol: *eyes widden tearfully* He just wants to know that and then he'll just leave me???
Alejo: No, sweetie... If you can keep this secret, he will stay near you and know more about you the way he wishes he could. *sniffles* He'll always be with you, you know? And he'll keep in touch with you through me. What do you think? *wipes Sol's tears* Do you like the idea?
AND IT WAS SO CUTE. Because Alejo was fighting back the tears the WHOLE time, sniffling a lot, and Sol too. Although I DO understand why Belen wouldn't let Alejo approach Sol. He's a little too...what's the word... Not violent but...unstable? I mean, he tried to kidnap Sol in her sleep before. And even in this sweet scene if you didn't know what was going on you might think he's a stalker or something. ^_^;
