IC Information:
Name: Marisa Kirisame
Fandom: Touhou
Timeline: Post-Ten Desires (Touhou 13)
Age: 19
Appearance: Marisa is a young blonde girl with a small frame and yellow eyes. Her traditional attire is that of a witch, wearing an almost completely black dress and hat. Black is good because it requires little maintenance to make it look good, and dust and dirt stains don't show! She does wear a white apron over her dress, though.

Abilities: Marisa is a skilled magician. Like any good Touhou character, she is capable of using Spell Cards and Danmaku. Danmaku is the magic equivalent of a scatter gun, in which many tiny bullets of magic are fired in a spread pattern. Sometimes the size, shape, or formation of the bullets can vary. Spell Cards are used to call forth unique magic to an individual. In video game terms, they are similar to that of a super move - a very powerful attack which usually requires a cool-down period before the next use. Marisa has an array of spell cards at her disposal for a variety of situations. However, there is one spell card that is synonymous with Marisa, a card which she will use at any given chance- the Master Spark. The Master Spark is a supercharged beam of magic, a laser of unmatched power and flashiness. It is fired from a small magical reactor that she carries on her person, and without it, the Master Spark is both incredibly draining and significantly weaker. In addition to her flashy magic, she does know a little bit about alchemy and brewing potions. She mostly uses this to brew magic potions that explode on impact. Why use that talent for anything else?

All good magicians/witches can fly, and Marisa is no exception. Her main mode of transportation is an enchanted broom.

Personality: The word "nice" is the complete opposite of what you would use to describe Marisa. While not the rudest of people, she is often selfish and inconsiderate, doing what she wants to do, when she feels like doing it. She is priority numero uno in her book, and that's the way she likes it. If she wants something, she'll just take it, without regard to anyone or anything involved. This philosophy is the core for every aspect of her life, from "investigating incidents," to combat, and even to matters of love. This makes her a bit of a flirt, especially if someone's interesting or rather, they have something of interest to her.

Despite being a totally inconsiderate thief, she is quite the hard worker. Much of her time is spent researching magic and spell cards, so she can keep up with the rest of the crowd. Her spells need to be the flashiest, and the most powerful. She hates being bested at anything, and to her "second place" just means "first loser." She's the type of person that believes the points actually -do- matter on "Whose Line" and that she will do whatever it takes to score the most. This is especially true in combat. She lives by the motto of "If its not flashy, it's not magic." If she finds a spell card that's better than one of hers, she'll do whatever she can to take it for herself and make it even better.

In conversations, Marisa will do whatever she can to get a word in. She's not the kind of person who will just let her opinions go unheard of. She will frequently cut off others, and sometimes completely disregard anything they say. The opinions of others do not matter to Marisa, because hers are far superior in every aspect.

History: As Marisa is one of the two main characters of the Touhou series, she has appeared in almost every game. As a young girl, she was an adversary of the heroine Reimu, but eventually they became friends. Marisa saw Reimu as a rival, someone to beat and work to keep up with, and they beat each other up enough to form a friendship.

Usually, whenever there are strange happenings in Gensokyo, Marisa will investigate usually for her own reasons. Also, Marisa's the type of girl who will team up with anyone who's easy to trick. While she sticks with Reimu primarily, she's teamed up with other notorious characters like Alice. No matter who she works with, she tends to leave a lasting impression. Sometimes this impression is negative as she is a thief. Other times, it's memorable in a way that changes the other character.

As for the kind of things she investigates? Those incidents have been anything ranging from "Why is the sky red?" to "There is a UFO. I'm going to take a look!" No matter the incident, Marisa's involvement is almost always the same: She is either curious, or there's probably some stuff to be had. As an avid packrat, Marisa's interest is solely on collecting treasure because if it's interesting enough to make her curious, there's gotta be good stuff involved!

Roleplay Sample - Log: Marisa was never one to hesitate on setting out for adventure. When she heard the news about the overabundance of divine spirits in Gensokyo, she considered it a literal godsend. Wherever these spirits were converging, she was sure there was some sort of treasure to be found. With a stretch, she got up from her chair and navigated around the piles of junk to her magic broom and hat. With one quick motion, she grabbed the broom and caught the hat on her head, making her exit.

"About time something interesting went on around here. I was getting really bored!"

She assumed the ready position on her broom, and with a kick, she flew off into the sky, hoping to discover the source of the recent incident.

Roleplay Sample - Journal: [The video feed clicks on to a young, extremely bored girl in witch attire, resting her feet up next to the computer.]

Man, this place is pretty drab. Certainly hoping this place isn't as boring as it looks. Anything interesting to do here at all? Can't even blast a hole to look outside... Shit. When did I get so weak? Either I'm getting rusty or this place just sucks.

[Marisa sighs, getting up from her chair. If there were no responses, she was going to go off exploring on her own. She paces around the room a bit, occasionally looking back at the computer, hoping for a response from a familiar figure. Nothing. Can't make a girl wait forever.]

Well, can't see the use in waiting around here. Sometimes you just gotta find where the adventure is yourself. I'm sure I can figure something out.

[She goes to the computer to turn it off, giving a peace sign as she closes the video feed.]

Later! I'll see you guys around, I suppose!

This game includes horrible mental and physical torture of your character. After reading the rules/faq for clarification, how do you expect your character to handle this and continue to function? Marisa's got a strong resolve. Even if she's experienced hell and back, she'll continue to push herself to keep going. Especially if there's others that are doing the same. She does hate losing, after all. And she won't have someone coping with it better than her.

Questions? Comments? Crazed and creative statements? Those go here. Can't think of anything to note, here.
