bazan and more stuff...
i don't think anybody reads this crap anymore...but whatever..
1. friday - saw david bazan at bottletree...kyle and i headed down after i got off of work and met up with becca, tony, and ian...it was quite fantastic, we were right up front and he played a few new songs that were all quite enjoyable...already lining up to be in my top 5 of 2008..bottle tree was a cool place, i had never been there...i wish huntsville had something like it....is there a scene anymore? i'm so out of the loop
2. saturday - kyle and i went to see american gangster, it was long...we also came up with 2 potential names for the band...i have kept the band kind of hush hush, apart from to a few people...but i can say that it's hands down the best thing i've had the pleasure of being a part of, and is unlike anything i've ever done...i really can't wait for everyone to hear what i've spent the last year and a half working on...if all goes according to plan, we will be playing shows by late december/january...
3. monday - saw david bazan again at exit/in....tony, ian, kelli, and myself headed to the nashville and we got to meet up with derek and heidi, as well as a couple of kelli's friends...this show was even better than birmingham...i think he played less songs, but he talked more and explained a few of the songs and took more questions (which, becca, for the record i asked about the new headphones and he said that they are contracted for a new album that should be out in late 2008/early 2009 on suicide squeeze, and "it shouldn't be as unlistenable as the first")...there was a lot more passion in this set...tony and i also got to have a conversation with him after the show...he's super-nice and it was cool hearing about how is writing and some thoughts on faith and stuff...after the show we went to cafe coco (?) and derek and i talked about our crushes on jenna fischer...
4. tuesday - if it wasn't for tuesday nights, i don't know that i could make it through the week....
i think that's it for the time being...i was just bored and wanted to make note of this so when i look back next year i can remember some things....
