I guess I will start this off by saying sorry to the people wanted Benny to survive. I liked him too, but I think what happened to him was more logical. I also appreciate that staying was his choice and that Sam didn’t even fight to leave him behind. Sam was willing to step-up and pull back a creature he hated up until Benny showed up so the fact that Benny chose to stay makes me okay with his ‘death.’ Then again, Dean didn’t burn his bones, so Benny can come back.
Yay Bobby! I was wondering what Jim’s tweet was about when he said he knew nothing about returning to Supernatural, but it’s nice that he was just tricking us. I’m glad we got to see him again.
I’m really, really angry at Naomi though, I’m sure Dean isn’t foolish enough to trust her but she certainly is a manipulative little thing.
Poor Kevin too, I’m sure he’ll survive though. I highly doubt they’ll kill off Kevin. He’s a really good character and there is certainly a place for his continued presence on the show.
I don’t know this episode seemed to get a lot more hype than it put out. It was a good episode, no question, but I’m not really sure what was so shocking about the script. Unless they cut the shocking part out or the writers got the show number wrong (unlikely). Nothing shocked me really. It was all pretty par for the course. Then again, had they not snuck Bobby into the preview maybe I would have been a little more surprised. Or maybe I just need to stay off Tumblr during the season. I preferred watching Supernatural when I got to be shocked or surprised. I might try and avoid Tumblr for season nine and then I can remain unspoiled. I will miss the graphics though. Too bad people didn’t put spoilers behind cuts. Oh well.
One thing that did bother me a little is that Dean got put on the back-burner a bit. There wasn’t much in the episode for him. I suppose it’s really only fair, Dean does get his fair share of presence-heavy episodes. Jared did an amazing job though, as always. And Jensen really needs to stop losing weight, now I’m just getting concerned. And he’s also sick, he hardly ever gets sick… I can’t remember once episode where he had a cold, or an audible cold anyway. Then again, I didn’t realize Misha was sick during the first and second episodes of season seven until he mentioned it.
Anyway, good episode. I think 8.17 is still my favourite of this season though… Or maybe 8.07… Not sure.
