[Doesn't notice the other vampire by virtue of every predator on the streets tonight making him tense. He heads for a place where he knows he can find prey that deserves some rough handling.]
[What's to notice? The shadows seem to flow with Walter as he follows, sometimes dropping entirely out of sight and relying on scent or sound or even instinct to keep Henry from falling out of his way altogether.]
[The nearly full moon is an annoyance. Henry would prefer to hunt in darkness, not beneath the bright disk, but he is tired of the underground. All of this, coupled with Alucard's attempts to "help" and the difficulties Tony has faced that Henry can't remedy exacerbates the foul mood such crowded hunting grounds produce. Henry parts from the more well-intentioned foot traffic on the main streets and follows the rapid heartbeat of a thief into an alley. He smiles. Perfect.]
[Let's see the "Prince of Man" hunt. Walter goes high, scaling a building to watch from a rooftop. A pity he doesn't have Alucard's eyes that can be everywhere, but he finds a vantage where he can watch without difficulty.]
[What Henry wants is simple to achieve. The thief's only deviation from the average human population is his lack of a moral compass. He's already nervous about the blood drying on his hands. A glimpse of the Hunter behind him should produce a fresh burst of adrenaline to feed his fear.]
[Henry allows the mask to drop as he advances. His eyes become dark, unbroken pools of shadow in a pale face. A low growl rises in his throat, catches his prey's attention, and sets the man to running again. Henry draws ahead of him in a matter of moments. Bones break as the vampire catches the man's shoulder in a crushing hold and slams him against a brick wall with a snarl.]
[The taste of fear. Walter's teeth grow sharper in an almost sympathetic anticipation of the taste of blood and adrenaline and terror. He hadn't expected Henry's tastes to trend that way. Tony always painted him in a different light.
Little matter. All he is here for at this time is to watch. For now.]
[The thief whimpers and struggles. Henry sneers. If the man begins to beg, he's not frightened enough. Words almost slip past the man's lips, but Henry tightens his hold on the broken shoulder beneath his fingers, grasps a handful of the man's hair and forces the prey's chin back to expose the throat. More whimpers. The Hunter is starved for this, for the exploitation of another's weakness and the affirmation of its own supremacy. The man opens his mouth to scream. Henry snarls in warning. Silence follows. Good

[Alive. Walter is almost envious of the fact that Henry has the luxury of leaving his prey alive. Things would be so much less complicated if that were truly an option.
But it isn't. And Henry is leaving and the fallen man remains.
Walter waits for Henry to be well out of range and silently drops down from the roof.]
