So here is my top albums of 2006 list. I never understood why these things were published before the year actually ended.
So let's see what we have this year. An amazing pop record, a typical smattering of punk and post-rock, bar room rockers, indie rock staples, new british saviors, boris being crazy and japanese, and a concept album which may be about a girl who is murdered by her father and who comes back to haunt him as a ghost, but nobody really knows for sure. All in all 2006 was a very nice year. Metal seems to be coming back in a big way and it isn't hair metal this time but music with a soul, a howling, screeching soul, but a soul nonetheless. It was also a very weak year for hip-hop with a few notable exceptions. I looked long and hard for good albums, there just weren't many in this genre.
So here are my top 25 albums of 2006
