Caradoc had been surprised to find a note from Irma's son, Andy, among his mail when he returned home from teaching. He smiled as he read it. Now, instead of deciding if Irma was going as a literary character or an author, he had to wonder if Andy would have sent her something overly matronly or the complete opposite. Based on the request for a photograph, he suspected the later.

He had planned his own costume based on literature hoping that it'd be related to hers. Now he thought he might look a bit stuffy in comparison. He'd think some more and try out a few other ideas tonight and tomorrow.

Dear Andy,

I certainly am escorting your mother to the Halloween Masquerade. I thought she'd had a costume selected already, but I'm glad to hear you've taken care of her.

There'll be a photographer at the event and I'll make sure we both get photographic evidence. I might need it for her defense at the trial if she kills you for sending her whatever it is you sent her. On that note, are you sure you wouldn't like to tell me what she'll be wearing so that I may plan accordingly?

Regards,
Caradoc
