Orla had gotten little sleep, so excited and nervous about her trip to see Padma and go shopping. Not because of Padma, but because she'd never gone abroad before. She was at the portkey office as soon as it opened, and was in Canada shortly after noon. There were some differences, she noticed, but it seemed there was a standard across the board for magical communities. She was glad she'd dug out her robes, though she had to enlarge them slightly from her Hogwarts days.
She looked around, trying to see if Padma was there. She didn't fancy wandering about, and missing the connecting portkey to New York. She'd packed a small bag with what she thought she might need for the day, including the only muggle money she had, which was pounds. She wondered if she could find a place to convert it over, or if Padma knew. She'd ask her when she saw her.
