Cormac saw the owl arrive at the window and for a minute thought Uncle Tiberius had sent another message.
Then he realized it was Robards' owl and breathed a sigh of relief. He let the bird in and accepted the letter.
He read it and frowned. What had he done now? Except for the little fight with Seamus last night, he'd been the soul of propriety. He'd waited until asked for assistance that morning when an old witch had lost her purse at Socks, and hadn't even bothered to do much more than check to make sure the screaming kids in the park were actually playing and not really screaming.
So why was Robards sending him another owl? Had he heard about the fight with Seamus?
He took out a pen and scratched a quick reply:
Sir,
I'm not sure why you need to talk to me, and I hope nothing's wrong. I'll be there in the morning before the Quidditch match.
