I am sorry that I was not at your birthday party as I had every intention of going. However, that morning, Gilen came down with quite the stomach flu and it's only now that he's feeling better. I've been taking care of him, not really wanting to leave him alone. And for that, I do apologise.
I hope that, some night next week you would care to stop by. You tell me what to prepare and I'll fix you a belated birthday dinner. How does that sound to make up for things? I know that Gilen would love to see you again as well.
