Date: August 8, 2005 Character(s): Lee Jordan, Ginny Weasley Location: Streets of Stoats, Exeter, out in town Status: Semi-public [at the cinema] Summary: Movie time! Completion: Incomplete
Cleaning up after a light dinner, Ginny changed out of her T-shirt and into a light sweater for her evening at the movies with Lee. Making sure Godric wasn't getting himself into anything dangerous, she locked up the house behind her and apparated within visual distance of the cinema.
Getting closer, she easily picked out Lee's tall frame and smiled, her step quickening as she got closer until finally she called out to him, lifting a hand in greeting. "Lee! Hey there, sweetie. I hope I didn't keep you waiting long. Do you know what's playing?"
Lee was just reading an interesting snippet for a movie when he suddenly noticed that not many people were around. He rubbed his chin thoughtfull while eyeing a movie poster and then scratched his chin while turning around to look for other possible-movie goers.
The Cinema couldn't be closed...could it?
He walked down the sidewalk and around the cinema to see if anyone might be entering the cinema, or maybe someone holding a half empty bag of popcorn
( ... )
She gave him a tight hug before looking around him at the doors, mildly confused. "Well bugger all. I've walked past the place before but never really looked at the signs. Sorry, love, I didn't think to look."
"There's one of these in Exeter. I remember Ja... Jack pointing it out when we stopped for take-away. We can go there. It's just a hop away." Ginny offered, raking a hand through her hair, wrinkling her nose at the sign.
Lee returned her hug and shrugged his shoulders when she looked at the door. "Not your fault, we both didn't know." He turned back to her and blinked when she paused but didn't say anything. If he remembered right, Jack had been a boyfriend. Without thinking further on it he nodded.
"Exeter it is then. We could even go for ice cream if there's nothing at the cinema that looks interesting." He rubbed his neck and shrugged with a shoulder. "You do the honors then? I haven't been to the cinema there."
Walking through the crowd Lee shook his head, looking down at Gin to catch her eye. "It's not exactly awful. The way I said it was, usually a bloke will do something for his lady because he just wants to make her happy. Though that's maybe once in a blue moon for most blokes--the chick flick part, not the happy." He bumped his arm against Gin's arm and apologized absently as he looked around for the entrance to the right screen.
"Ten minutes then--yeah, we can go in. Any idea where you'd like to sit?" They walked through the open doorways and Lee looked around the hall as they made their way into the center of the theater. He waited for Gin to meet up with him at floor level while they looked up into the seating area.
"We can sit up close, but we might get cricks in our necks. Or we could get near the center and look straight ahead, or go to the back and get a view of the screen and the audience."
He started up the steps after glancing to Ginny and called over his shoulder. "Tell me when you want me to turn into an aisle."
