Justin looked up and saw that he was nearing River Place. He'd opted to walk home from work instead of apparate, because of the perfect weather they'd been having lately. It had been sunny and mild all day, and it was just his luck that he had to be stuck in a shop for a good part of the afternoon.
Now the sun was rapidly dipping below the horizon, so that he could barely see his reflection in the river by the side of the road. He considered stopping by Socks for a quick dinner, but decided that he'd rather head back to his flat and finish up the fudge he'd gotten from Eloise.
Just then he heard some movement and he looked across the road. It seemed another bloke was heading back to River Place as well. It was a pleasant coincidence, he supposed, since he hadn't yet met all of the people living in his building.
Nevertheless, he slowed his step and didn't call out, always hesitant to be the one who made the first move. If the bloke saw him approaching and stopped to meet him, then he'd catch up. If not, well, then perhaps it wasn't meant to be and he'd just make it to his flat alone and help himself to some fudge.
