Business at the apothecary had been steady that morning. George had spent most of the morning in the stock room, leaving the customers to Fred. They tended to swap off that way. There was lots to be done; a new shipment had come in and he'd had to sort it and inventory everything. He'd almost forgotten to eat.
Almost.
His stomach reminded him close to noon, quite vehemently, that he needed food. Promising Fred he'd bring him something back, he dusted himself off and headed for the Five Alarm for a quick bite.
The pub was already starting to fill up when he got there and he headed for the bar, finding an empty seat beside of a very familiar looking young man. "Anyone sitting here?" he asked, smiling.
