He felt a little uncomfortable sitting here with someone he didn't even know but there wasn't any help for it and he placed his hands behind him and leaned back as he listened to Dennis speak about his past. "So are you going back to school? Where did you run the soup kitchen and homeless shelter?" While those weren't things Marcus would ever consider doing, he did understand the need and appreciated people who could do those tasks.
"A fitness center?" Marcus' asked, his attention suddenly perked as he looked over at Dennis. "Tell me more about this. I'd be interested in joining."
He was taken aback when Dennis asked him about Quidditch but answered. "I played professionally until the game was banned. I was in the last Quidditch Cup final." He looked up into the sky at Dennis' next question before he admitted. "I don't know if I have it anymore. I've got an old broom and I'm happy like this." He paused for a moment before he brought his eyes to Dennis' and asked, "So why do you think I should try out?"

"I'm gonna get Tuturing, and my boss, Katie Bell has been teaching me a lot of things."
"Outside of Milton Keynes." It seemed like a lifetime ago now. "Didn't start off running it, was just a volunteer. Couldn't help in the war, cause.." Dennis just shrugged and raised his inhaler again, "and Mom and Dad would have had coranaries, plus Colin would have hexed me 6 ways to Sunday if I'd even thought of getting close to the line of fire. And I wanted to help someone, somehow so..."
"It's gonna be in the lobby level of Hammerside, Dean Thomas' building. We haven't set an opening date yet, but hopefully by September. Don't know the rates or fees, but I think Dean is gonna make a deal so the Quidditch team can use it."
Dennis just looked at Marcus.
"Cause I want Britain to win, or at least place. You won with a broom that was probably the worst in the lot," he hoped he wasn't offending Marcus, Dennis was beginning to think he'd like him as a friend. "We're gonna be playing catch-up cause of the war, and having someone who can win in bad circumstances, well that couldn't hurt. Right?"
"Course, I don't get a say on who gets to play, so...but the most they can say is 'No'. Make you a deal. Try out and if you get on the team great. If not, I'll cook you and Padma a meal, on me. You can ask Parvarti, I'm a good cook."

He heard Dennis trail off when discussing his job with the homeless people and nodded. Marcus hadn't been quite so brave and had run after his parents were killed. Of course, he didn't feel the need to mention that to someone who he'd just met. "I think what you did was admirable."
"Maybe I could get a part time job there as an instructor." He mused as he looked over at Dennis. "So what does a juice bar actually do?"
"You don't need to cook us a meal." Marcus laughed. "I'm sorry, its just that no one really offers to do things for me. It's appreciated but if I go out, it'll be because I want to play and I'm thinking that I want to play." He kept checking Dennis to see if he was okay and he wished Padma would get back soon. "I just wish I had a better broom but won't make excuses." Looking over at Dennis, he asked, "Do you fly?"

"Just make and see, hopefully, smoothies." Did Marcus know what those were, he wondered? "usually that's just fruit juice, yoghurt, banana, fruit, and honey, but I've found a good one that's chocolate and still good for you. And maybe veggie wraps or sandwiches, but all healthy stuff." The wooziness was wearing off. He was still very tired but he could breathe fairly normally again. He'd just need to go slow but he could make it home in a couple of minutes. "Organic food, locally grown if I can manage it, cept the banana's, chocolate and citrus, of course."
"Okay, no cooking but if you are ever near Hammerside and want to drop by, feel free, I'm in 2A."
"Can I wish you luck or is that bad luck? It is to Muggles, or at least in the theatre."
"I fly a little, Katie and Oliver, he's been teaching me, keep teasing me that I'm small enough to make a good seeker, but I'm not ready to go very fast yet at all. Kinda would like to try catching a Snitch sometime, but not anywear near the World Cup...."

"Smoothies? I think I've shared a banana strawberry one with my daughter." Marcus tilted his head curiously. "Chocolate has always been a weakness of mine." Marcus admitted with a smirk. "But if it's healthy, I guess I can have all I want."
"I'll tell you what. I'll drop by when you're feeling better and we'll talk about food then." He answered, hoping Padma would get back soon with the food for him. "You make your own luck and you should practice. It's all about hand eye coordination." He ignored the fact that he was somehow acquainted with Wood. Marcus then remembered something and reached into his pocket, pulling out a package of wheat crackers with peanut butter. He looked at them before he handed them to Dennis. "I carry these for my daughter but they might help you."
