Gawain spent the walk over to Hestia's flat considering the meeting to come. He fully expected this to end in Hestia's official release from service. If she truly felt that she should not work, and if Lisa was correct about her current state, Gawain wasn't about to refuse the woman her rest. One could only push so far, after all.

Yet there lingered the vague hope that she might consent, at the very least, to a bit of side work. Nothing strenuous, certainly, but her skills in potions making had been most useful in the past. He wouldn't suggest the idea if he thought it unwise; a bit of conversation, even seeing the woman, might dictate easily the direction to follow.

He, or someone, should have visited earlier. There was no help for it now, but they might have done something for her earlier. It had been too busy. As was so often the case, however, this was no good excuse.

Setting the thought aside for a moment, Gawain knocked on the door, waiting calmly to meet the woman.

Hestia opened her door slowly with her wand in the hand behind the door. She expected to see Mr. Robards but it never hurt to be careful. "Come in, Sir. I'm sorry you came all this way." She moved over to her table and invited him to sit.

Easing down into her chair she came strait to the point. "I'm sorry sir, I don't think that I am Auror material anymore." She had been looking at the table then she raised her eyes to meet his.

He watched her without movement, responding carefully, "Ms. Jones, I've not come to push you into anything. If you feel strongly that you would rather not join us again, I cannot force you. We could certainly use your skills." For a moment he paused. He could offer the option, at least. Yes, and he would. "If you would prefer to work from your home, even perhaps in an on and off capacity for the time being, we could make proper accomodations." Let her consider that, leave it as such for the moment.

Hestia shook her head. She was afraid that working as an Auror would bring up too many painful memories. Working for them would just make her miss what she couldn't do anymore. "I'm really sorry, Sir. I just don't think I can."

"I should offer you tea and biscuits, but I feel like I have already taken up too much of your time." Standing she waited for him to stand before offering him her hand.

"Thank you for troubling yourself on my behalf, but, I have got my shop fairly well stocked, and regular customers. I will, of course, let you know if I need anything."

She stood and smiled for the first time, "It is nice to see you again, sir. I'm happy that they didn't get you."
