The song was right; All the difference was in a day - or two… or three. At least, to Alicia, when she returned, she felt completely refreshed and ready to pick up where she had left off, only without the odd feelings about what was going on around her.
Although she had only had him a couple of days when she left, she found that she really missed Bert, which was partly why she apparated directly to her flat, pretty much as soon as the PortKey had allowed her to set feet on the ground. The other reason, was Charlie, who had kept sneaking his way into her thoughts the past couple of days. She wasn’t sure she was ready, but she was going to take Oliver’s advice and at least not run away immediately.
In her flat, she tossed her bag on the bed and began digging through it, until she found the small velvet pouch she had bought right before she had left. She couldn’t help but chuckle at it, but only for a moment, before she drew out her wand and apparated to Charlie’s house.
She took a moment to straighten her clothes and run her fingers through her hair, before she knocked on the door, and held her breath in anticipation of soon hearing Bert’s excited yapping from inside.
