"I suppose late August," Percy said, considering. "Say last Saturday in August?" He stood up and moved to the sideboard, sloshing a little bit of cognac in a glass.

"We haven't done any planning yet, have we? Where do you want to go on your honeymoon, love? I'm sure I can get the Minister to give me a little bit of time off for such an occasion."

He looked critically around the room. They had had supper at the new house, and Percy was really pleased at how it was coming along. It ought, he thought, to be ready for them to move into after the wedding.

"That sounds nice," Morag replied. "And no, we really haven't. I saw your brother, Ron, earlier in the week and I wasn't sure what to tell him when he asked when the wedding was," she said with a smile. "He seemed rather nice, though."

When he mentioned honeymoon, she rested her cheek on the palm of her hand, considering. "Somewhere in the Mediterranean would be lovely. Are you sure the Minister can spare you? We don't need to take a long trip if it would be an inconvenience," she said. "We could always just take a weekend now and a trip later when things are more settled."

She slipped her shoes off and tucked her feet up under her on the chair. She was rather tempted to steal it and take it to her flat - it was a cozy chair and perfect for reading books in. "And do you have any idea where we could be married? I'd not thought about that until yesterday. I don't think an open field is a very good arrangement," she said with a laugh.

"Hell," Percy said, annoyed with himself rather than her. "I haven't sent owls to the family yet. Well, I can say I was waiting for us to set a date. Still, hell." Then he shrugged. "Ah, well, they've been well-taught not to expect much from me."

He considered her suggestion. "Mediterranean, hmm. Somewhere hot as blazes, eh? Well, I daresay we could do with a spot of baking. Greece, d'you think?"

Percy smiled at the sight of her stockinged feet. "We could be married at the Ministry, perhaps? It would be appropriate. We don't want our guests dying of sunstroke, after all." Although if it took out her parents...

"Percy, it will be fine. Don't worry so much about your family," Morag said evenly. "I doubt they will be mortally offended that you didn't owl them immediately, and if they are, we don't want them at the wedding anyway."

"What about Italy? You did say you liked it when you were there," Morag replied. "Although I don't know how well either of us would bake. Burn seems more likely," she said with a smile. "But it would be lovely to see the sea."

"Is the Ministry large enough?" Morag asked. "I wasn't under the impression there was much free space. Perhaps the town hall? I don't believe there are any churches here, are there?"

He stroked her cheek. "Besides after you've slept with me a few more times, you'll find yourself welcoming the nights I'm away. You must have noticed how dreadfully restless I am in my sleep." His tone was light, but he was still worried. Marriage was about intimacy, Percy knew that. He also knew himself, though, and how difficult it would be to entirely give up the aloneness that had defined his life for so long.

"You did seem to sleep restlessly," Morag agreed. "I thought it was perhaps your leg bothering you."

"If it makes you more comfortable, separate rooms are not a sacrifice of epic proportions," she said, kissing him lightly. She was insecure about it, yes, but she could always try it first, and if it still bothered her, perhaps find a way to talk to Percy about it after a trial of sorts.

"No, it's simply how I sleep, unfortunately." He kissed her deeply. "Besides, isn't there something delightfully baroque about me stalking into your bedroom to demand my husbandly rights?" he chuckled.

She laughed. "Very romance novel," she teased, kissing him again. "I love you."
