RP: A little company?

Daphne wished Mr. Lockhart was there. She had nobody to talk to, and it didn't do anything good for her constant fear that he wouldn't come back or wasn't taking proper care of himself when customer's came in for fitting appointments and she had to tell them it wasn't possible. She had spent most of sunday trying to figure out what to say. She didn't want to tell them the details of Mr. Lockhart's absence, it was far too private, and telling them that he was sick wasn't really an option either. Especially not if he was planning on staying away for very long. In the end she had ended up concocting a vague story about urgent business out of town that had to be dealt with immediately. A few customers had nosily asked what sort of business that could be, but she could truthfully say that she hadn't been told any details of his whereabouts.
She hated lying though. Every time the doorbell rang she cringed a little inside, hoping whoever it was would merely be there for purchase.
Or Dean. Wasn't it nearly lunchtime yet, or was time just moving really slowly?
