At her question, he shrugged and grinned. "I guess so," he said. "We've not really discussed all the specifics yet, since the renovations haven't even started yet, but I've been taking notes and shi---stuff over the last couple of weeks."

She talked about support groups and he listened carefully. "That's a brilliant idea. I figure a lot of people around here could use that sort of service, definitely."

"I have to be honest, though, and let you know that it's going to be the end of July or maybe the start of August before the centre is functional," he said. "I'm hoping that we have just about everything in place to move in and open shortly after the renovations are done, but that's going to take some time since there's a lot of minor damage, though nothing major, thank god. I'd love to work with you on giving you space for your groups, but I don't want to lie and say it'll be happening next week."

Orla nodded vigorously. "Oh, of course. It will take at least that long for me to convince those I've been working with that 'going public' is in their best interest. I am just relieved that something could happen in the not too distant future for the community as a whole. You'll keep me in mind, then, when it nears completion?"

"Of course," he promised. "Not like I can forget when you're right across the street, anyway. We can meet later in the month, if you want, once we know more about the space available and all."

"That would be lovely." She smiled. and said impishly, "Maybe next time I'll do something to knock you off a broom." She flushed; she really stank at flirting.

"I look forward to that, Miss Orla," he said with a wink. "I think you could definitely knock me off my broom if you set your mind to it."

He grinned. "And I promise to keep my clothes on next time I'm around you, love. Wouldn't want to cause any more distractions, after all."

Orla ducked her head in embarrassment, but smiled shyly at his teasing. "Well, you'll be the first to know if I do. Set my mind to it."

A bit startled by her own temerity, she whirled, crossing the street to her front door, before calling. "It was very nice to meet you Mr. Hopkins. Let's talk again sometime, yeah?" She went inside with a bit of a smile, albeit an embarassed one, on her face.
