He grinned. "Can I help at all?"

Florean closed the lid of the box, putting it on the counter and Summoning a pound of butter from one of the fridges. "Anything take your fancy?"

Florean shrugged. "I try. I like to experiment; ice cream is my passion. I would have just opened an ice cream parlour like my old one in Diagon Alley, but I decided that a dairy was just more practical and would probably get more business to start."
Reply
"Did you have a place in Diagon Alley? You'll have to forgive me, I lived in New Orleans... America for the past 25 years until I moved back a few months ago."

He nodded. "I did, yes. Had to give it up during the war. Wanted to keep my family safe. My daughter was a lot younger then." Florean glanced down at the items Caradoc had selected, then looked back up at him. "And how are you paying today? I do bartering or money."
Reply
"I can pay in British Pounds or if you'd like to barter for services, I'm a Charms Master if there is anything you need done in trade."
Reply
"Pounds are fine," Florean said. "I prefer working in Muggle money. A little easier to keep track of. Altogether, that's four pounds fifty, then, please."

He collected his bags and decided to apparate back to Hillview so the ice cream wouldn't melt. The thought Cai would be very happy that he found peach ice cream to go with her cobbler.

He turned back to his suduko as Caradoc left the shop, the bell above the door ringing gently. Martha, the employee who was pretty much the manager of the shop and actually scared Florean a little with her ruthless efficiency, arrived back a few minutes later. After checking that she could lock up the shop, he called through to Felicity.
"Come on, Flick. Time to go home. Your mother'll have dinner ready soon."
