Date: 9 May 2005
Character: Penelope Clearwater and Oliver Wood
Location: Penelope's flat
Status: Private
Summary: Oliver and Penelope meet after a long time apart.
Completion: Incomplete

Oliver's week since meeting Alicia had been hectic. He was still trying to get his family settled into his flat and he had spent the day trying to do something about his sister's education. He had purchased several books to her utter dismay which along with her previous texts would keep her busy for a while. His mother had told him that she'd be in charge of tutoring Iliana and Oliver agreed since she was a very competent witch.

He still had to see Wayne about his job. It wasn't like he needed to jump into work since the proceeds from the sale of the store and house should be coming in soon and along with his savings would mean that Oliver would not have to work much for a long while. But he thought he owed his friend and he liked to work and felt the need that he had to accomplish something.

Still, as he walked toward River Place, he knew that working with Wayne wouldn't be long term because Quidditch had been burned into his mind. His meeting with Alicia had rejuvenated him and he was excited because he had someone who shared his vision and who he could trust. It had been so easy for the two of them to slip back into their old ways and he found himself wanting her company again because she made him feel at ease.

They both had their lives to lead though and it wasn't like Hogwarts where they could curl up in the common room every night and talk until dawn about life and other things. But they'd be working together and that was something he looked forward to as soon as they figured out how to get some funding which meant they'd need to meet again in the near future.

His meeting with Alicia had gotten him to thinking about someone else who'd been important to him during his brief stay in Stoatshead. He smiled nervously as he thought about Penelope and the way their relationship had burned so hot in the beginning and then burned out just as quickly. He regretted the way they'd departed but he knew it was for the best since with all the issues he was facing, he knew things wouldn't progress and that wasn't fair to her.

But as he stood in front of her flat at River Place, he thought that maybe it was a time for a new beginning. They never really were friends since they had begun snogging soon after they met in Stoatshead and it had progressed quickly from there. He regretted that because he knew she was a nice person who he should have taken the time to get to know.

"She'll probably smack me about the head." He chuckled as he stood curling his hand into a fist. Still, he knew that it was worth trying to patch things up and he took a deep breath before he knocked on her door.
