While Visions of Elephants Danced in his Head... )
She felt the buttons carefully and hoped her knowledge of braille would lead her to the right button. Main Floor. To celebrate. She grinned.
The tell-tale bell rang, and Penelope stepped off the lift. Her white cane tapping softly on the floor, guiding her along.
“..McGonagall was shouting it into the streets.”
Penelope was pants at telling people by their voice and today was no exception. She got about as detailed as adult male before she gave up. But it didn’t really matter. She followed the voices to somewhere near the door if the cooler air was of any indication.
“It’s fantastic, isn’t it?” she said, “I mean, I thought it’d never be over. And now it is!”
She laughed, and then, remembering her manners, “I’m Penelope Clearwater.” She extended a hand. “I’m not usually as giddy, I swear, but it’s simply fantastic news!”

He looked her over for a moment, not really pausing on her unfocused eyes, but rather the cain in her hands. "Clearwater...why does your name sound so familiar?"
Reply
Penelope shook his hand. It was warmer than her own and most certainly larger. Irish accent. And well, really, with a name like Seamus Finnegan that wasn't all that surprising.
"I was Head Girl back in 1993 if that's of any help," she replied, "and there was that unfortunate incident with the Basilisk."
Reply
"Yes, that does help quite a bit, actually." He grinned, placing her in his memory instantly.
"You were the one who dated Percy Weasley, weren't you?"
Reply
"Er, yes. Yes that was me."
Reply
"I think I remember you," he offered up, quietly. He didn't comment on her cane, and he noticed her eyes- they were pretty, even if a little blank. "It's nice to meet you."
Reply
"Oh, yes. It is lovely to meet the both of you! I'd be lying if your names didn't sound a might familiar. May I ask what House and/or Houses you were in?"
Reply
Reply
"And I'm...was in Gryffindor."
Reply
"Almost a full set, imagine that!"
She smiled. She was just so darn happy.
Reply
"Ah, we don't really need any Slytherins at all." He glanced at her and laughed at the expression on her face. She just looked so darn giddy.

She wagged a finger at what she hoped was his general direction,
"You best hope I don't get cross with you."
The desired effect was likely lost, however, as her mouth quirked up at the corners.
Reply
"No, I'd never laugh at a head girl."
He watched as she wagged a finger near him, and he found himself once again wondering about another person's injuries from the war.
Reply
Again, though, he really wasn't sure of what to say, and found himself wanting to go back to his flat. But..he hadn't really had any friends to just talk to in a while, and this was kind of nice.
"How d'you two plan to celebrate, then?"
Reply
She grinned again. "Fantastic!"
Reply
He smiled apologetically, looking to Justin.
