Penelope made her way to the lift. Despite being blind for several years now, she had never quite mastered the art of stairs. The last time she had attempted them had been at her brother’s house and that had ended with her sitting on the sofa with a bag of ice clutched to her head for several hours. Yes, the lift would be the way to go. After all, death by stairs seemed a might anti-climatic after such absolutely fantastic news.

She felt the buttons carefully and hoped her knowledge of braille would lead her to the right button. Main Floor. To celebrate. She grinned.

The tell-tale bell rang, and Penelope stepped off the lift. Her white cane tapping softly on the floor, guiding her along.

“..McGonagall was shouting it into the streets.”

Penelope was pants at telling people by their voice and today was no exception. She got about as detailed as adult male before she gave up. But it didn’t really matter. She followed the voices to somewhere near the door if the cooler air was of any indication.

“It’s fantastic, isn’t it?” she said, “I mean, I thought it’d never be over. And now it is!”

She laughed, and then, remembering her manners, “I’m Penelope Clearwater.” She extended a hand. “I’m not usually as giddy, I swear, but it’s simply fantastic news!”

Seamus grinned at her and took her hand. "I'm Seamus Finnegan, and this," he told her, nodding in the direction of Justin, "is Justin Finch-Fletchley."

He looked her over for a moment, not really pausing on her unfocused eyes, but rather the cain in her hands. "Clearwater...why does your name sound so familiar?"

"Hello!"

Penelope shook his hand. It was warmer than her own and most certainly larger. Irish accent. And well, really, with a name like Seamus Finnegan that wasn't all that surprising.

"I was Head Girl back in 1993 if that's of any help," she replied, "and there was that unfortunate incident with the Basilisk."

Seamus nodded in recognition.

"Yes, that does help quite a bit, actually." He grinned, placing her in his memory instantly.

"You were the one who dated Percy Weasley, weren't you?"

She blushed.

"Er, yes. Yes that was me."

Justin watched the exchange in silence. He wasn't near enough to shake her hand, and Seamus seemed to get all of the introductions out of the way before he could even think of anything to say. His leg was starting to get really uncomfortable and he shifted as much weight off of it as he could.

"I think I remember you," he offered up, quietly. He didn't comment on her cane, and he noticed her eyes- they were pretty, even if a little blank. "It's nice to meet you."

The voice from before. It was much quieter than Seamus'. This was clearly Justin.

"Oh, yes. It is lovely to meet the both of you! I'd be lying if your names didn't sound a might familiar. May I ask what House and/or Houses you were in?"

"Hufflepuff," Justin replied. "A few years under you." He limped over to lean against the arm of a chair in the lobby so he could stretch his leg out a little. He'd have to find a healer to get it looked at again, if this kept up for too long.

Seamus watched as Justin limped toward the chair, wondering slightly at what had happened to him. He looked back at Penelope.

"And I'm...was in Gryffindor."

Penelope heard movement although she was not familiar enough with either of them to determine who had done the actual moving.

"Almost a full set, imagine that!"

She smiled. She was just so darn happy.

Seamus shrugged and smiled cheekily.

"Ah, we don't really need any Slytherins at all." He glanced at her and laughed at the expression on her face. She just looked so darn giddy.

"Are you laughing at me, Mr. Finnegan?" Penelope said in her best Head Girl voice.

She wagged a finger at what she hoped was his general direction,

"You best hope I don't get cross with you."

The desired effect was likely lost, however, as her mouth quirked up at the corners.

Seamus let out an uncharacteristic giggle, and quickly clapped his hand over his mouth.

"No, I'd never laugh at a head girl."

He watched as she wagged a finger near him, and he found himself once again wondering about another person's injuries from the war.

Justin fell silent again as they spoke. He smiled at the obvious joy on Penelope's face and the smile widened as Seamus giggled.

Again, though, he really wasn't sure of what to say, and found himself wanting to go back to his flat. But..he hadn't really had any friends to just talk to in a while, and this was kind of nice.

"How d'you two plan to celebrate, then?"

"Five Alarm, chaps. I don't fancy myself much a drinker but how many times does a Dark Lord find himself fortunately deceased?"

She grinned again. "Fantastic!"

"I really wish I could, but I've got loads to do upstairs before I have to get ready to go to work. Er, at the Five Alarm. But if you want to stop by later? My shift starts at five."

He smiled apologetically, looking to Justin.
