Character(s): Roger Davies, Seamus Finnigan
Location: Five Alarm
Status: Semi Public
Summary: Roger drops in on Seamus at work. His other job, rather.
Completion: Incomplete
It was the second day this week that Roger had left work later than usual, pushing past dinnertime and staying in the shop until late. But that was just the way of it; he'd loaded himself down again. His mornings lately were spent at Crabbe's house, finishing the interior renovations while overseeing the crew outside putting up the addition. After lunch, he'd gone to Eleanor's to work on renovations. At least there'd been biscuits involved, and he'd be finished there by Wednesday of next week. By that time, he would add another job onto his schedule, hopefully the one at Tonks' shop, and Angelina's shop.
He had more than enough to keep Harry, Seamus and Marcus busy, which was good. He was so glad to have them to help and handle the more general details of the work. It freed up more of his time and he found he could focus on more than one project in a day, which was more efficient and allowed him to take on more jobs. And on Monday, he figured, he could move his operation to his new workshop. The thought made him grin. He'd spent the rest of the day and into late evening there, getting everything set up and making sure supplies were stocked and in place.
As he walked along River Road, he pulled out a his dog-eared notepad and scrawled a few quick reminders. He needed to remember to let Seamus, Harry and Marcus know to show up at the new workshop on Monday, instead of Jack's. And tomorrow, he would owl Blaise and Crabbe to let them know that the interior renovations on the library and Crabbe's house, respectively, were complete. There was still work to be done on the library, but Roger'd not been hired for that. Depending on how satisfied Blaise was with the job so far, he may approach Roger about that, or not. And Angelina had said his broom would be ready by tomorrow, so hopefully he'd be hearing from her again.
Smiling slightly, he pocketed his pad, feeling good about getting some things wrapped up work-wise before leaving town with Hermione tomorrow afternoon. He was looking forward to being away with her, and having this time just for them after the business with his parents' books was completed.
When he drew even with the pub, he pushed inside, finding it not very crowded. He looked around, checking his surroundings, and made his way to the bar where Seamus stood. He pulled up a stool, grinning.
"Seems like I just saw you at the shop earlier." He laughed. "So at best, you're the hardest working bloke in Stoatshead, and at worst, I'm seeing far too much of you, mate."
