RP: Distractions

Summary: Terry tries to accomplish some work. Blaise doesn't seem intent on letting him, and Terry reallydoesn't mind.

Terry was curled up in one of the large chairs in Blaise's library, the most recent edition of Jarvey's Treatise on Experimental Charms Research open in his lap, but his mind wasn't on the text. He was pretty sure he'd been reading the same page for the past half hour, but he didn't remember a word of it.
Sighing in defeat, he closed the book, but left it lying on his lap and stared into the fire. He wasn't certain why his mind wasn't on the book. It was completely unlike him not to be able to concentrate, especially on Jarvey. But he couldn't shake the feeling that something was different.
His conversation Wednesday with Padma had something to do with it, certainly. He'd been thinking a lot about his friends, and their unluckiness in love, and wondering how he, of all of them, ended up being the most stable in that area. Well, aside from being divorced of course.
And there was Ben's birthday coming up next month, and he'd been trying to think of something extra special for his little boy. It wasn't everyday one turned five. Maybe some sort of holiday was in order.
So, admittedly he had a lot on his mind. But that had never stopped him before from concentrating on Charms. Something was wrong with him or with the room, and it was playing with his mind.
The more he concentrated, the more the tingling up his spine increased, and suddenly, with a flash of understanding, Terry knew exactly what was wrong.
"Blaise, I know you're there," Terry said finally, realizing that the tingling along his spine had nothing to do with the warmth of the room, but rather a Charm someone had placed on themselves. "Stop staring at me. It's making it so I can't read."
