Andy walked around the living room aimlessly, waiting for Orla to come for Ted's appointment.  She hadn't spoken to Ted since their blow

"It's like this, Mr. Tonks." She sat across from him and Andy. "You're having these blackouts, which are to be expected, and when you discover the gaps in your memory, the stress this causes you impedes your revisiting those times. You panic, understandably, because you can't remember, and your mind seems inclinded to retreat from the shock of those holes in your knowledge of yourself."
She looked from Andy to Ted, wanting them to be on the same page. "The medication will keep you, both your mind and your body, from going into shock at that knowledge. Its complicated, but it provides a balance in your brain so those things don't seem so scary. It's not a permenant solution, but it will give you a starting point for recovering that lost time, and your sense of control. You need to feel safe, and Mrs. Tonks and I can't make that happen for you in quite the same way."
She took a deep breath and exhaled. "I can't predict a timeline for any of this, because the combination of magic and muggle effects on a person's psyche is still fairly new to me. I know how muggle science approaches it, and I'm learning more and more how magic plays into these things."
"The most important thing right now is for you to learn the signs of the blackouts, and how to respond so you can control the severity of these occurences. I can teach you techniques, but I can't make it happen. No spell can, I'm afraid."
