When she opened the cinema, he was going to lose his weekend-adventure mate.
That dawned on Cedric half-way through the week. He'd been thinking that he should owl Katie to see what she wanted to do that weekend. He wasn't even thinking "if" she wanted to do something but what she wanted to do, when it crashed in on him that as soon as she figured out the popcorn popper, they wouldn't be doing anything on weekends anymore. She'd be working, and he experienced a completely selfish joy that she was still stumped (or at least he assumed she was or he'd probably have heard from her). Then he felt just awful because he knew how frustrated she'd been when the power had gone out.
It was just that he'd miss their weekends. Then he scolded himself for being an idiot since it was just a matter of scheduling. He'd not be a very good friend if he weren't willing to do a bit of rearranging for his days off, especially as it required no more than thinking outside the box.
In any event, she hadn't yet opened the cinema so they had another weekend to spend exploring something new. Getting out parchment and quill, he wrote:
Hullo you,
Haven't seen you since Sunday. Miss you. So. You want to do something this weekend while I still have you to myself? I was thinking of playing tourist. I don't care where we play tourist, but I feel like getting out of Stoatshead and even Exeter altogether. What say you to that idea? We could go to London, or we could go somewhere else. It's probably a bit early to visit Cornwall for the beach, but I could show you Tintagel, the village my dad's family is from originally. (He insists the Diggorys once served as court wizards to the Dukes of Cornwall. I'm ... skeptical. But I humor him.)
