Date: March 25 2005 Character(s): Wayne Hopkins, Ernie, Hannah, Charlie, Dean, Caradoc Location: Various Status: Private Summary: Wayne sends out a few owls Completion: Incomplete
I'm fine, thanks. I hope the new hotel avoided damage. The market was a huge mess, River Road was vandalized, and that hospital you showed me had its potions stolen. If I were to guess, the actual target was the hospital. River Road was probably a diversion. The market I'm not so sure about, but there was more damage than looting, based on what I saw Thursday morning.
Cai has decided that she can handle the roof herself. A braver man than I would be required to tell her no, my friend. Don't think I'll be moving furniture anytime soon, but I was able to get in some work before this nasty business Wednesday night.
I met my neighbor who lives across the hall from my flat, and one of the neighbors from that warded house we found down the street from my claim. Both are very interesting women. I'll tell you about them over that pint and dinner, if you'll regale me with the story of your trip. How does Wednesday or Thursday at the Five Alarm sound?
Hillview wasn't touched. It would take a lot to make the claim any worse, don't you think? I'll be sure to keep you in mind if we need an extra set of hands.
Start calling me 'Romeo', son, and you're likely to be talking like 'Juliet' for a while.
Thursday at 7 is fine.
Caradoc P.S. Please note the lack of any Shakespearean references in the name. If you must go somewhere, I suggest brushing up on the Arthurian legends. There is definitely material for laughter at my expense there. Although use of the obviously humorous nickname has been known to result in a few of my friends being hexed.
Caradoc chuckled. He had no idea if the young man would seek out the Arthurian nickname or not, but he was interested in seeing if he'd try. Gideon Prewett used to take the mickey out of him all the time by calling him 'Short Arm', which of course led to calling Gideon 'Bible Boy', which of course led to... Well, what was a little gentle hexing between friends? No one got an eye put out or anything.
Thank you so much for your inquiry. Your project sounds very interesting and I'd like to discuss it further with you. Could we meet at noon on Tuesday at the Five Alarm?

Good to hear from you. I'm afraid that pint's going to have to wait until things calm down a bit.

The hotel was fine. It looks like they didn't get out this far. Hope your place made it through all right.
Well, if you need any help moving, you know how to find me.
Interesting women, huh? Shall I start calling you Romeo now or reserve that annoying nickname for the future?
Thursday night would probably be best. Say seven at the Five Alarm?
