Luna tugged her bucket hat more securely onto her head as she approached Just Desserts with chocolate on her mind. She'd been thinking about it all morning, really, as she'd read the sign announcing the grand opening last week. Today, she was going to use her break from work to buy delicious chocolate instead of normal food. She smiled to herself at the thought.

She passed a customer on their way out as she went inside, smile on her face while she looked around at the people and smelled coffee and sweets. Her galoshes squeaked on the pretty floor as she entered the shop proper.

"Good afternoon. Welcome to Just Desserts." Eloise smiled at the pretty blonde who had entered. It had been several hours, and she'd not yet tired of greeting people.

She cast a drying charm on the woman and summoned a cup of coffee. "You look like you could use this," she said, grinning as she handed it over. "Are you looking for anything in particular or just browsing?"

"Oh, hello." She smiled at the other woman as she came over. Before Luna knew it, she was warm and dry with a cup of coffee. She was sure that was above and beyond the call of duty for the proprietor of a shop. "That was very nice of you; thanks," she said, taking a sip. "I definitely could use it."

"Oh, I'm not looking for anything in particular. I love chocolate pretty universally, you know. I've not had any in quite some time, so I'm really happy you've opened a sweet shop. But now that I think about it, anything combined with a fruit flavor tends to become a favorite. Your robes are lovely, by the way," she added.

"I completely agree. I could never choose a favorite chocolate," Eloise agreed. She grinned. "I'm Eloise Midgen, by the way. This is my shop."

"Thank you. I'm afraid that I tend to wear robes quite a lot, though I do have a fondness for long, flowing pretty Muggle dresses," she confided. "Now, you mentioned fruit flavors? Do you prefer fillings, creams, or just the flavor? I have selections with all three."

She studied her a moment and smiled. "I've actually just started testing a new flavor, if you'd like to try it? It's milk chocolate fudge and pineapple flavor. I think it's quite good, but I'm not sure if it's too sweet."

Luna grinned back. "I'm Luna Lovegood. Pleased to meet you, Eloise."

"Oh, so do I," she agreed. "That's all I wear during the summer, you know. Flowy dresses and peasant skirts in interesting prints."

"I actually really love solid chocolate with the flavour throughout. I usually can only find orange, raspberry or mint at Muggle shops, though. I'd love to try it with pineapple," she said. "Though, I'm not sure I'd be a good judge of whether it's too sweet, as my sweet tooth is quite something to behold." She laughed.

"It's nice to meet you, Luna," Eloise said. Her name was vaguely familiar but she couldn't place her, so she decided it must have been Hogwarts.

"Do you know of a good shop for the dresses? My wardrobe is mostly robes and dresses I bought ages ago," she said. "I really need to get a few more things before the weather changes again."

She grinned. "Pineapple it is, then. If it's horrid, we'll just excuse it as an experiment gone bad. I have those quite a lot," she said with a wink. She went into the back and came out with a piece of fudge. "Here you go. Be honest. If it's awful, I'll know to start over. I also have strawberry, banana, and cherry flavored fudge, so you'll have to take a sampler, I think, so you can decide what you prefer most."

Luna smiled. "I do know of a Muggle shop in Exeter," she said. "It's sort of out of the way. And it's a consignment shop, so the clothes have been worn before. But I find the loveliest vintage prints there."

"I'm sure it'll be wonderful," she said as Eloise went to get the sample. When she brought it back, Luna sampled a piece of the pineapple fudge. "Mmm," she said, "that's quite good. But you know, I think a darker, more bittersweet chocolate might balance the sweetness of the pineapple more than the milk chocolate. I'm no expert, of course. But it's like I said, you know. Sweet tooth." She tapped her jaw and grinned.

"Really? Maybe you can show me one day?" she suggested, not caring if they were strangers because, really, how else could one make friends since everyone was a stranger before they became a friend.

When Luna tried the fudge, Eloise watched her and listened, summoning a quill and parchment to record her observations. "I tried a dark chocolate first but I think it was too sweet. I'll try someting more bitter and send you the results. I've been working on pineapple and apple for awhile and am not even this close with apple because it's either too strong or too faint a flavor."

"Thank you for trying it," she said sincerely. "When I make something new, I'm usually too critical or my taste buds became dulled from all the testing."

"Of course," Luna said, rather surprised, but pleased that Eloise had asked. She wasn't used to people inviting her to things. She smiled. "Just let me know whenever you'd like to."

She frowned in thought. "Apple's a very subtle flavor that's too easily drowned out by something as rich as chocolate, I think. But have you ever had a caramel apple? I'd bet you could make a sweet with sour apple and caramel as your primary flavors, and use less chocolate."

"Oh, there's no need to thank me for eating your chocolate," she said, then added with a laugh, "I'd be a tester whenever you wished."

"Great. Maybe we can go in a week or two, on a Saturday once I hire a couple of people."

"See, I intend to have caramel apples during the autumn, but I've not been able to figure out the perfect sweet to incorporate apples, as I quite like apples," she said. "I'll have to brainstorm and see what I can create."

"I'll remember that next time I need a tester." She laughed and motioned to the display. "Did you want to sample anything?"
