The weather was so weird today that Roger actually had to flip up the hood of his dark blue sweatshirt as he walked along River Road. He didn't at all mind walking along in the rain, but there was actual hail and all manner of other precipitation coming down that made things a bit more uncomfortable. He'd had a busy morning already; it was Seamus' first day of work, he'd been showing him around, a training day of sorts. And, he had a meeting with Dean Thomas that afternoon to discuss future projects.

In the time between, Roger had decided to get out of the shop for lunch, and check out the sweet shop that he'd seen adverts for last week. He entered the shop and immediately welcomed the warmth as he pulled down his hood. There were a few other patrons about and the place smelled fantastic. He looked around, eyeing the coffee table and wondering what sort of chocolate Hermione might like.

Perhaps the bad weather was a blessing because it seemed to be causing people to stop in to warm up and have a taste of fudge. Eloise turned the wireless to something a bit more cheery, wiggling her bottom a little when she heard the Weird Sisters singing. She really hoped the rumors of them reuniting and performing again were true because she loved their music.

Marcus was restocking the sample tray, so she walked around and greeted people. She liked meeting everyone and helping them find the sweets they wanted. When she approached a handsome man who had just entered, she smiled. "Good afternoon. Welcome to Just Desserts. If I can help you with anything, please just ask."

He looked up as the friendly redheaded witch who'd been dancing by the counter headed over to greet him.

"Hello," he said, smiling back. "Smells good in here. And thanks."

He looked around, his hands in the pockets of his hoodie. It seemed like she had just about everything there was to be had. He was thinking about having a cup of that coffee. But while she was here ...

"I'm not sure what I'm looking for, exactly," he said sheepishly. "Something good, I guess ... you have, erm, anything with caramel?"

"Would you like a cup of coffee or tea?" she asked. "It's complimentary, and I can easily fetch you a cup."

"Everything here is good," she told him with a grin. "I have several things with caramel, actually. There's fudge with caramel swirls and dark chocolate caremel with nuts, and then there are sweets that have caramel centers. Any of those strike your fancy, Sir?"

"Oh, coffee would be great," he said gratefully. "Thanks a lot; black is fine."

"Everything, yeah?" He had to grin. She'd do pretty well with an attitude like that, he figured as he listened to his choices. "They all sound pretty good to me. I could try them all. But maybe the fudge with the caramel swirls?"

He smiled wryly when she called him 'sir'. "Ah, you can call me Roger," he said. "Nice to meet you."

"One cup of coffee, black, coming right up." Eloise poured a cup and handed it to him.

"No harm in trying them all, but I'll make sure the caramel swirls is first," she decided. She went behind the counter and gathered a small sample for both of the fudges and then added two little chocolate covered caramel sweets to the tray.

"I'm Eloise," she said. "It's nice to meet you, Roger. Here are the samples. I also have a few other sweets with caramel, as it's a lovely texture and flavor for several selections, but these are my particular favorites."

He took the coffee, smiling in thanks as he took a sip and waited at the counter while she moved behind it to select some samples.

When she brought out the little tray with sweets out to him, he reached out with the hand not holding his coffee to take a piece with the swirls. He nodded appreciatively. "Really good," he said after he'd chewed. After trying the other pieces, he decided the first one, the fudge-caramel swirl, was the best. And, he figured Hermione would like it.

"You make amazing chocolate," he told her. "I think I like this one best. I'll take a ten-piece tin, if you have it."

"Thank you. I'm glad you like it," she said. Once she closed shop at five, she'd have to do a lot of dancing around because she was thrilled that people liked the chocolate.

"I have it. You want all ten pieces the same kind?" At his nod, she smiled and set about cutting the fudge into squares. Once the tin was full, she put the lid on it and handed it over. "Here you go. I hope you enjoy."
