All he could hear was his own breathing, along with the roar of wind passing his ears, and the pounding of his feet as he jogged. He had no destination in mind, but he felt rushed, adrenaline peaking as he turned corners, cut through trees, ran down streets. He felt a braid come loose from the band pulled tight near the nape of his neck. He didn't stop, didn't want to lose the sensation of almost flying the rush of feeling his legs brought to carry him such a distance. He could feel the braid tapping his shoulder periodically as he continued his aimless path. His breathing was rhythmic, deep, controlled. Running could provide so many things. Just from doing a repeated task like this allowed the mind to wander, to think, or to lose oneself to habit.

Could you get lost in your head? Most certainly. Was he trying to do that? Forget his past, his actions, regrets?

The verdict was still out on that.

And yet he knew he wouldn't- couldn't. Not after the promises he made. Promises that would break him if he didn't stay true to them. He could see the picture in his mind, his smiling mother, and his father with an arm around her. He blinked repeatedly, pushing the picture out of his mind.

Maybe he could... No.

Lee looked up into the sky and saw that the sun had risen considerably. He needed to get back, no more running away. It was time to turn back and find his path again.

The time it took to get back seemed far longer than it did than going out. Lee mentally shrugged and pushed on, running past the river from River Road and following Lovegood Lane. He could see the sign to Copper, though blurrily since he was still running. It seemed to bounce, and he smiled to himself, knowing he was the one bouncing, and not the sign. He could feel the burn in his thighs and he thought a hot shower would be good when he got in.

As he got to Copper Towers, he slowed down considerably to let his legs become accustomed to a slower pace. He walked through the door and glanced at 1A, grinning as he remembered the encounter with Su. He wondered if she'd woken up already, perhaps falling off the couch, or becoming confused as to why she was still in her dress from her night out. He shook his head and headed to the lifts, pushing the corresponding button to his floor.

He stepped out from the lift and turned the doorknob to 2A, walking in as it recognized his signature. As he headed to the kitchen for a cup of water, he realized he hadn't seen Ginny lately, and that Cedric was already at the new museum, and he hadn't gotten to see him much either. He rubbed his eyes and ran the back of his hand across his forward, the sweat was already tracing paths down his back, and he could feel the tickle of them behind his ears. Lee ignored the urge to run to the shower and pulled two pieces of parchment from a pile on the kitchen counter. He wrote quickly, wanting to send out just a note to see how his friends were doing.

Gin,

Your name came to mind today, I wanted to see what's going on in your life. We should get together sometime soon, drinks maybe. Do have any free time this week? Let me know if you don't, there's no rush.

How's your Sunday been?

Yours,
Lee

Ced!

It's been too long, mate! The last time I saw you was at the museum, and we didn't even really get to talk much, you were so busy. Were you going to keep the wall up with everyone's painting contributions? It was quite the sight to see from what I can remember.

Anyways, we should get together sometime, maybe I could drop by the museum in the afternoon and then we could grab a bite to eat. Whatever works for you.

Lee
