When Daphne came home from work she changed her clothes and put her work robes up on a hanger in the bathroom. She cast a number of laundering charms on it and left it to dry, so that it would be clean and fresh for the morning.

She was feeling a bit restless and after having eaten a small dinner she decided to go out. She hadn't set foot in the Five Alarm since she had gotten so drunk last weekend and she considered going somewhere else. It was the only place she was familiar with, however, and she didn't really have the energy to brave going to a new place.

As she walked towards the pub she decided that even if she had acted terribly embarrassing last weekend it wasn't likely that the same people were there today and if they were, they would probably have forgotten about it by now. She would be damned if she would let Theo indirectly ruin going there for her as well. It was something reminiscent to the thought of conquering fear of falling by getting right back on the horse.

Daphne was surprised to find the pub so full of people. Until now it hadn't occurred to her that it was St. Patrick's Day. She ordered a large glass of fruit juice and found herself a place to sit near the corner from where she could observe the other patrons while drinking her juice.

There was a lot of talking and laughing going on so there was plenty to look at. Even some snogging by the opposite wall, but she avoided looking at that. She didn't want to invade their privacy, even if she was on the other side of the room.

After a while it occurred to her that she seemed to be the only person who was there alone. Everybody around her was talking and laughing in groups or pairs, and Daphne found herself wishing to be part of it too, but she couldn't bring herself to approach anybody. They didn't seem to need her company and might not even appreciate it if she did.

She sighed. Feeling like the odd one out, she began to wonder if she shouldn't just go home instead. Holidays were bad days for people watching.
