RP: Meeting Old "Friends" For the First Time

Vincent had considered the Five Alarm for a drink, but that inclination had only lasted a few minutes. It seemed too much like the kind of establishment Willis Travers would frequent. While he wasn't looking to specifically avoid the man - he didn't want to give Travers that kind of importance - he had no specific desire to deal with him - or anyone like him.
It seemed even worse though to sit at home on a Friday night. Vincent had stopped by to check on his house - not far enough along for his liking, which would have been done - and made a quick stop at the makeshift Ministry to acquire some information. Beyond going for a run, which he had to force himself to do, he had no pressing engagements. While he was taking steps to make sure his days had more of a purpose, there was only so much one could do in this place for entertainment.
This wasn't what he had pictured when he had moved to Stoatshead, this absolute boredom, but he had no desire to go to the dance club, or some place run by elves. If he were back in Bulgaria, at the very least there would be his gentleman's club to go to if he had no company to keep, but here the options were much more limited.
When he found himself standing outside the Five Alarm, contemplating going in, Vincent knew he was getting too desperate. Shaking his head, he knew he'd be better off at home with a book for company. Considering the hour was still relatively early, he decided to go to his house first, and possibly get some work done there. Although it was what he was paying Davies for, and paying him well, anything accomplished decreased the time until he could move in.
Walking there, mostly to kill time, he noticed someone walking down the street towards him as he approached the house. This time, it seemed to be someone actually worth running into.
