"Oi, over here," he said, raising his voice and a hand. It sounded like Cedric.

"Buggering fuck!" he swore, pulling trays of letters from drawers under the printing press and setting them down on a table nearby. "Sorry, mate," he said sheepishly. "Mum and Bill are coming for dinner at six, and I'm trying to get as much done as I can by half-four so I can leave early. But it's okay, I'm glad to see you."

"And yeah, I guess I've got Towler's seal of approval, or at least I'm allowed to go back to work tomorrow, just supposed to take it easy for a bit. Jeff's not even letting me pick up a brush for the painting day Saturday."
Putting away his wand, he gestured to the press. "So how does that work, anyway?"

What did her body tell him? He had no idea. He wasn't sure if the same measures applied. He'd rushed her at the museum; he'd felt that. She'd seemed to like the kiss or at least not be adverse to it, but then he'd gone too fast, driven by desire, and she'd pulled back. He didn't want to rush her, but the more he thought about it, the more he realized he was the instigator. He kissed her, he pursued her, he watched her arse, her mouth. Her gestures to him seemed affectionate, but friendly. He didn't mind being assertive, but he needed it to be a conversation. He wanted to be kissed back. He wanted to be wanted. She seemed open to his touch, even to enjoy it, but she didn't ... respond, not in the way he was used to, not in the way he responded to her. He felt no heat. Was that because it all confused her, being new, or because she wasn't feeling it ( ... )

Ron's comment: You care about her a lot. You fancy her a lot. I reckon you should ask yourself if she seems to care about you as much and in the same way, made Cedric look up again. It wasn't the same. He knew it wasn't the same. But she'd acknowledged as much when she'd agreed to go out with him. She just hadn't been sure if it would change.
"No, I don't think she does have any idea, but then, I'm not sure I do, either." His grin was wry, and he shook his head. "I don't think there's a quick and easy answer for it. This is just something that we ... have to see where it goes."
He stood up. "Go ahead with your work. I'll just watch for a while."
