After all, he had a stellar memory, and it didn't take...rocket science...or something similar, to boil water. He had traveled out of town after sending Narcissa his invitation and used a choice amount of hypnosis to get the groceries he needed. He then rushed back to his home, laden down with over a dozen bags, and tried to decide what to make. Sanguini had decided on something relatively simple that he had learned forty years ago during a visit to China - beef and broccoli lo mein. It wasn't too difficult to make when one had all the ingredients, and he had double-checked his hastily scribbled list several times during his shopping.

He had stir-fried the beef and broccoli in the skillet he had found in a cabinet in his admittedly small kitchen, and was in the process of draining the noodles. He poured the broth and oyster sauce into the skillet and stirred in the cornstarch mixture, cooking it until it finally began to thicken. He added in the noodles and checked the small clock he had found in his closet and immediately put on the kitchen counter. Narcissa was going to be here in less than five minutes if she was punctual, and Sanguini was quite aware that she was. He moved in a bit of a blur as he unfolded the table he had scrounged from one of the abandoned houses nearby, having taken about an hour to clean it after he had woken after sunrise. The vampire set the table and turned off the stove, bringing the skillet over to the plates he had put down and putting the majority of the lo mein on Narcissa's plate. He wouldn't be able to take more than a bite, but he was curious if his cooking turned out well. Sanguini placed wine glasses by the plates and looked down to make sure he hadn't gotten any of the sauce on his new white shirt.

He knew he looked fairly casual in the white dress shirt and jeans, but he had told Narcissa in the owl that it was a dinner between friends, not a formal affair. He wasn't sure what type of wine she wanted, so he had picked up four bottles up at the store, two white and two red. His house actually looked like someone lived in it now, and Sanguini was lighting the last candle in the room when he heard a knock on the door. He went into the kitchen and put the skillet in the sink before going to the door and opening it with a smile.

"Good evening, Narcissa."
