Date: 16 February 2005 Character(s): Remus, Ginny, Gilen Location: Observatory Hill Status: Private Summary: Remus takes Ginny up on the invitation for dinner. Completion: Incomplete
Ginny had begged off her classmates invitation to the local tavern, stopping instead at the butcher in the little village on the edge of the academy grounds and, after a confusing mix of German and English, she'd gained a recipe and several cuts of pork. One more stop at the local corner store for a treat for Gilen and she was all set

Remus hadn't seen the house as she had worked on it, but Remus could tell a job well done when he saw it. He slipped his coat off, hanging it by the door and taking Gilen's as well. He glanced around the foyer, taking in the touches and truly loving what Ginny had done. Remus realised he had been lucky to move into an undamaged house, but the downside was being able to actually work on a home.
"It wasn't short notice at all and we're glad to come," Remus said, returning the kiss to her cheek and giving a squeeze. "It would have been dinner at home for us, so eating with friends is always a bonus."
Gilen rushed forward, giving Ginny a hug. He looked at the package she gave her and his eyes lit up. Gilen threw his arms around Ginny, hugging her tightly. "Danke!" he exclaimed, not about to let her go.
Remus chuckled, leaning against the doorframe. "Ginny, I think you've made yourself a friend for life."
Ginny grinned from ear to ear, picking up the little boy and setting him on her hip as she hugged him back. Looking over his shoulder, she chuckled. "I couldn't ask for a better friend, honestly. Ist dich mein fruend, Gilen?"
"The glasses are in the cupboard to the left of the sink, Remus." She nodded to the bottle of wine he held as she lead him into the kitchen, content to hold Gilen. "We're having Jägerschnitzel, naturally, because I'm not that adventurous of a cook. My classmate, Gustav, recommended it - said I couldn't muck it up, which I would take offense to if he wasn't such a sweetheart."
Wrinkling her nose mischievously at Gilen, she grinned as she sat at the table, shifting Gilen onto her lap. "So what have my two favorite men been up to since the opening?"
Gilen held on, wrapping his arms around Ginny's neck. "Ja." He said, nodding and letting his head rest on Ginny's shoulder, the packet of gummis clutched in his hand

Remus thanked Ginny for his glass, refilling it with more wine and passing the bottle to Ginny if she so desired it. He felt like he was nodding at the appropriate places though was relieved this was his own copy. He closed the book, armed with enough information for now. He could pour over it, compare it to his own notes and see where to go from there.
"Ginny, you haven't said anything I haven't thought or haven't lobbied against during my years. The fact that I'm the deputy headmaster is, well, huge. Werewolves just don't get these opportunities." He took a thoughtful sip of his wine. "Don't ask me about the potion. I never could brew anything to save my life
