Lavender nodded, blushing slightly, trying not to imagine what would have happened if Hermione or Harry had walked in on a kiss like that. Memories of what they had been like at Hogwarts resurfaced, making her feel a little uncomfortable.

"That's alright," she told him quietly. "I understand, so don't worry." Lavender gave a lop-sided smile. "I've got no desire for an unwanted audience." She reluctantly moved away from his comfortable embrace. "Yeah, let's go upstairs. I'd love to see the game room - lead the way!"

Ron helped Lavender up from the sofa and led her up the stairs until they reached the top of the house.

"Well, here it is," he said, waving an arm toward the room. "We haven't used it very much yet. I don't think I've played billiards since Christmas. Do you know how to play? I'm not very good so I don't think I could teach you."

"It's a gorgeous room," Lavender said, looking around in surprise. Ron was right, though: it did look a little unused. She giggled, shaking her head. "No, I don't know how to play," she said, eyeing the billiard table almost a little warily. "I tried to play pool once but I was kind of rubbish. Awful, actually." She wrinkled her nose.

Moving away from Ron, Lavender crossed over to a window, peering out at the darkened view of the town. "Not a bad view," she remarked, turning to smile at Ron. "You've got a really nice house."

"Yeah, it is a nice room," he replied. It was too bad he was rubbish at billiards himself; it would be fun to stand behind her and help her move the cue. "We were lucky to find the house. It's really close to where I grew up and my mum's living just down the road. It wasn't in bad shape when we found it, mostly full of dust from no one living here."

He crossed the room and stood behind Lavender, wrapping his arms around her shoulders while they looked out into the night. "View's good too," he said, giving her a little squeeze. "I've never looked out this window at night." He remembered flying at night a few times during the war. The circumstances weren't fun, but there was something exciting about flying in the moonlight with the wind ruffling his robes and stinging his cheeks.

"Have you flown on a broom at all since those lessons we had in first year?" he asked softly.

Lavender relaxed into Ron's embrace, loving the secure feeling of his arms around her. It was warm and comforting, her head resting against him.

She frowned slightly at his question. "No," she said finally, shaking her head. "I don't think I have. Don't think I've needed to." Lavender turned her head to look up at him. "Why?"

"Maybe you should try flying again," he said with a sly smile. "I could take you out on my broom some time when the weather's warmer. If you want."

Lavender twisted around so that she was facing him, his arms still around her. She slipped her own arms around his waist, smiling up at him. "Maybe I should," she agreed, cheeks slightly flushed. "That sounds nice."

"Yeah," he went on, "you should. It'd be fun, though we'd have to figure out how you could ride tandem with me. Hmmm. I'm sure I could think of something."

Leaning down, he pulled her closer and kissed her again. "Well, if we're done watching DVDs and we're not going to play billiards, we might as well go to my room now."

"I'm sure you can think of something, too," she agreed.

Lavender smiled at Ron's suggestion, pressing a kiss to his throat. He certainly knew how to get to the point and that was something she could admire. "Yeah, somewhere a little more private," she said, enjoying the closeness she felt just being held like this. She let Ron lead the way to his room, though, closing the door firmly behind them.

"Private would be good," he said, leading her to his bedroom. Knowing that she was coming over, he'd actually cleaned up a bit; clothes that had been piled willy-nilly around the room were now stashed in the dresser or hung in the cupboard. He was trying to be more considerate of the women in his life since he made up with Hermione. Cleaning up around the house, returning owls from his mother and sister, and now straightening up his room because Lavender was coming over -- his brothers would probably think he'd gone mental. Maybe he was just growing up.

Lavender settled herself on his bed, leaning up on one elbow. Ron had bought a few small candles at the market to use for what the Muggle sex book called "atmosphere". Lighting them with an Incendio, he turned off the overhead light and settled on the bed next to Lavender. "That's better. You comfortable?"

Lavender grinned as Ron switched off the overhead light, the room now just softly lit with the light from the candles. "Very comfortable," she agreed as Ron settled onto the bed beside her. "Better with you next to me."

She leaned over, kissing him gently. "You know," she admitted, "I've been looking forward to seeing you all day."

"Me too," he said, returning the kiss with a bit more enthusiasm. Leaning on his elbow, he ran his hand through her hair then down her arm. Taking her small hand in his, he twined his fingers with hers.

"So what do you want to do now?" he asked in an innocent tone of voice. He didn't want Lavender to think he was only interested in her for sex, because he wasn't. Now he'd got to know her a bit he actually liked her a lot. He was already trying to think ahead to Valentine's Day, but he wouldn't worry about that tonight. He would pay attention to what she wanted, because experience had shown him that was the best way to get what he wanted too. This time things didn't need to be frantic like they were the night at the dance club. They could take their time and do things slowly, if they wanted.

"Hmm." Lavender gave Ron's hand a small squeeze. "What do I want to do now?" she pondered teasingly, lips curving into a pout. Despite Ron's innocent tone, she knew exactly what he was implying and, as much as she wanted that, after her fling with Blaise she wanted to be a little more careful, even if she did feel a lot closer to Ron that she ever had with Blaise. Strangely, it had been Blaise giving her underwear that had put her off contact him again, and not seeing him with Terry Boot at New Year's.

"Well, we're in your bedroom. On a very comfortable bed." With silencing charms on the room. Lavender took her hand from Ron's, fingers trailing along Ron's jaw. "How about you kiss me and we'll see what happens?" she said softly.

Ron grinned. Lavender had become very good at reading his mind, or at least the meaning behind his words. He liked that about her; he didn't have to talk with her orlisten to her endlessly to make her understand him. Oddly enough, it was both comfortable and exciting to not have to explain himself all the time.

"Bugger, you caught me," he teased, a little shiver going down toward his groin as Lavender trailed her fingers along his jaw. When they approached his lips, he sucked on the tip of her index finger. "That sounds good. But I think we know what will happen. Not that I'll mind at all."

Lavender laughed softly, but her breath caught as Ron sucked the end of her finger for a moment. This easy rapport with him felt good, more so when he confirmed that they were both thinking along the same lines. Her hand cupped his cheek and Lavender leaned in for a slow kiss.

"I won't mind at all, either," Lavender murmured in confirmation, eager to have him even closer than he was now. Her hand moved down from his face to rest on his hip as she kissed him again, taking her time and in no rush. Slower and nowhere near as frantic and desperate as in Xanadu seemed more appropriate for this evening.

"We're not in any hurry, are we?" he asked softly as her hand moved down to his hip and she kissed him again. His own hand moved under the hem of her jumper, his fingers rubbing gently on the soft skin of her back. She kissed him again and he responded with even more enthusiasm, his tongues slipping between her lips and sweeping slowly through her mouth. Lavender whimpered a bit, which encouraged Ron to continue the kiss. When they finally broke apart, slightly breathless, Ron felt the familiar stirring inside his jeans.

"I've got a book on sex around here somewhere. If you wanted to look at it. Or not... we don't have to." And, of course, the rest of the safe-sex presents Hermione gave him before Christmas, which were tucked inside his night stand.
