Roger was up early, but that was typical for him. He dressed warmly, with a long-sleeved tee under his button-up overshirt and jumper, and jeans with thick-soled brown boots. He hoped his plan went over well and she didn't just turn him right back out of the shop again as soon as she saw him. He knew it was early, but he also knew she'd be up, and possibly settling in to some sort of work or other. Walking into the kitchen, he put on a pot of coffee, so it would be ready when he got back-- even if she weren't with him. He took out the scones he'd bought and set them out on the table as well.

She needed a break. He knew that there were alot of things that needed done, and not alot of people around to do them besides her. But he figured most of it would keep for now. And he'd told her, hadn't he, that he was going to show her how to not work for a day. Well, today was the day, he thought, grabbing his leather jacket and shrugging into it. He stepped out onto the porch. The sun was still only just coming up. He checked around the side of the house, where he'd placed his motorbike not long after waking, then headed across the property to the shop. As he walked, he glanced in the direction of the main house and sighed, thinking of the conversation he'd had with Ron last night.

When he reached the shop he knocked on the kitchen door, and waited. He couldn't help a small grin as he wondered if it would be as big a challenge to pull her away from work as she'd said, or if she'd been joking. He figured it would be fun either way. It wasn't going to be a a big thing or anything; just a relaxing day of doing nothing-- at least he hoped so. But it'd be good to see her. And maybe he could cheer her up some in the bargain.
