Ernie,

I had fun, too. I'm glad you enjoyed the outing. As for dinner, I must warn you that I'm awful in social situations such as that. I attempted it this last weekend, and I'm afraid that I was a horrid guest. Of course, I do know you and Cedric, though I only vaguely recall Megan, so perhaps that would make this easier.

Is it semi-formal or casual? If you can forgive me should I end up hiding in a corner quietly, I'd love to see your new flat and come over for dinner. Thank you for the invitation.

Sincerely,

Hermione

Hermione,

I'm not going to debate your horridness with you. I am glad you can attend.

And it's most definitely a casual dinner.

Ernie,

Fine, no debates. Do you need for me to bring anything?

I'm glad it's casual. See you Sunday.

Ernie,

You're up to no good. I can smell it. Megan and Hermione? Not that I wouldn't mind seeing Meg again, she's lovely. And I'm hardly going to complain at seeing Hermione, but I'm serious, Ern -- she doesn't know how I feel and I don't want to make her uncomfortable. Let's just make it an informal dinner among friends? Hermione's not comfortable with idle chit-chat; maybe we could plan a board game or something? I have some fun ones that aren't your standard. One's called History of the World and it's essentially about empires trying to take over the world. Somehow I think that would appeal to you and her! Megan and I can sit back, lose gracefully to stoke your egos, and laugh behind our hands. (Does Megan even like boardgames? I don't want to make her uncomfortable, either.)

Ced--

An informal dinner among friends was exactly what I had in mind. Very casual. The board game sounds interesting. Megan is fairly flexible about things; I think she'd give it a try. If I had a television, I'd suggest some videogames or a movie. However, that appears to be the one thing my flat is lacking.

And I'm choosing to ignore your comments about my ego or desire to take over the world.

Ernie,

Alas, Megan would kick both our behinds at video games, and Hermione would probably be bored. So we'll try the board game. (Although sometime, you, me, Megan and Hannah should get together to play video games again.)

As for the other matters ... don't tell me you've never considered the possibility of being addressed as Minister MacMillan at some point in the far future. (runsawayveryfast)

Although, and being serious a moment, I do have to say it would be rather cool if someday I get to say the Minister is a personal friend.
