Cormac had just about given up on finding anything of interest in this town. There was no crime to speak of, which was nice, of course, for the average citizen, but not so great for him as an Auror. Maybe there would be a sudden rise in crime after the next few days of shock wore off. Because if he didn't get to arrest someone soon, then well, he thought he might just have to kill himself.

At the moment he was walking along B St, approaching where the street intersected 1st, just hoping that some hooligan would come across his path so he could reprimand them, and give them a citation.

Up ahead, he saw a slender woman with pretty blonde hair examining her garden. Immediately interested, because, well, he had always been a sucker for blonde hair, Cormac quickened his step. He reached the gate and was about to shout out a "Hello", when he finally noticed who it was.

"Victoria?"

Victoria turned around. The voice was strangely familiar, the sight that met her, even more so.

"Cormac?"

It was her. How very...surreal. He hadn't seen her in....five years or so. Not since she'd walked in on him and that secretary from work.

"So, er, you've heard the good news then? About You Know Who?" Cormac asked awkwardly. He didn't know how to deal with exes, since Victoria was the only girl he'd ever been with long enough to consider an ex. "And, er, how've you been?"

"Yeah, I got the memo. Or rather Grandfather met a wizard at the market, actually. It's why I'm here."

He looked good, she thought. More mature. Dear God, she hoped he was more mature, at least.

"I've been good," she shrugged. "Got hit pretty badly at the Ministry, but other than that, I've managed to get through this mess in one piece. You?"
