She was smiling, and wearing a dress. Shouldn't have surprised him; she'd been at a dinner party, but still, he'd not seen her in a dress before. It was blue, and some kind of...other color that he couldn't name, but it looked nice with her hair. The sweater on top did nothing to take away from how the dress looked on her, and as he got up and went to the door, he swallowed.

"Thank you, Roger." She looked up at his compliment and smiled widely. "I'm really not used to wearing a dress at all, but I quite love this one. It's the color, I think." She nodded and shook her head slightly as the former action caused her to wobble just a bit.
"The party was...well, I'd say it was interesting but it was actually rather dreadful. "Misunderstood? How so?" she asked curiously. She sat on a stool and leaned forward, resting her arms against the counter and focusing on him. Her eyes suddenly widened when she realized what protective seemed to insinuate then she blushed. "Oh, uh, he thought you and I...I mean, um, that you were living with me in a with me sense?" "Er, yeah." He cleared his throat. "I guess it sounded that way to him at first, that it was a with you type deal. I straightened it out quickly," he added hastily, feeling the blood creep up his neck into his cheeks. "It was awkward, but not a big deal. He was mainly worried that if it was like that, that I wasn't treating you well. Like I said, he was just concerned, which I can appreciate. It's fine now, though ( ... )

He looked over at her as she stammered out an apology. What could she possibly have to be sorry about? "It wasn't uncomfortable, not in that way. I don't think there are many blokes who'd feel weird being, ah...romantically associated with a woman like you," he said quietly. "It was mainly that when we both realised the misunderstanding, we thought about how embarrassed, and possibly upset, you'd be if you'd heard us. I didn't mean to give the wrong impression, you see, and I figured you'd have been more than a bit uncomfortable when you'd been nothing but friendly towards me ( ... )
