It was early evening and Julian Avery was studying forge designs with an intensity that could start its own flames. Yes, he was eager to get into the business, but truth be told, there was another motivation behind the fervor of his studies.
You see, if his attention wavered from a fixed task, he might be tempted to commit homicide.
What was the bloody use of trying to patch someone up, if they were Hades-bent on not allowing themselves to heal?
Gilderoy Lockheart was going to be the death of him, or vice versa.
Julian threw down his quill with a huff. He supposed it was just as well, as Jack Sloper would be stopping by this evening to discuss the commission. If Gilderoy had been at the Shoppe, he probably wouldn't have stayed in bed. Which meant, he probably would have gotten bored after five minutes of discussion. And a bored Gilderoy Lockhart tended to make for an unproductive Julian Avery. Still, he was annoyed that the 'stubborn streak' was making itself so widely known. And the prat had said he'd be better about pushing himself today too.
A voice in the back of his head reminded Julian that his lover was a Slytherin. Well, he would just see to a Slytherin response to the offence.
... Later, after the consultation with Jack.
Hopefully, Gilderoy wouldn't bust the other gut in the meantime.
