Blaise read the invite over for a second time. He wasn’t sure he could afford to say no. And in truth he wouldn’t have questioned accepting it, but for the mention that children were welcome to spend the night. He’d been entertaining images of getting Terry drunk New Year’s and then dragging him off for that research he’d mentioned in response to Terry’s Christmas present. But he doubted that would be possibly if the wizard’s son was around.
He supposed it could still be interesting. Useful perhaps. He’d be able to make a note of some of Terry’s close contacts and assess them. And at least he was sure to have Mandy to offer some conversation. And hadn’t Ben said he was friends with Violet. Perhaps he could catch Tracey alone for a quiet talk.
Blaise smirked. He could always entice Terry away for a bit if things proved too boring.
He just hoped Terry had shown enough sense not to invite Theo. Because that could be awkward. And after his and Terry’s conversation outside Roma that fact should have been abundantly clear. Though he wouldn’t put it past Terry to have.
Blaise huffed. He’d always liked New Year. So many people drink and with lose mouths - it was a useful time of year. But he had a sense of foreboding about this one.
