"I'd only run into Hermione for a minute or two the other day, we didn't really get a chance to talk - there were other folks around but I guess it's no surprise that she'd be comfortable with books, yeah?" She laughed softly.

Ginny heard the hesitation in his voice when he mentioned Harry but didn't really think it necessary to point out that she'd been 16 when she dated Harry and that had been seven years ago, certainly nothing more than puppy love and gotten over rather quickly in the light of reality. "You and Lee? Well, that's certainly something different. Did you hear about the Quidditch league that might be starting up? I thought you might be interested in... well, you were always nuts for the sport, too. So, a bookstore, a press and a cafe. Sounds like the three of you have a good idea going. Glad to see you guys doing things you love."

Her face light up when he said Jack's name, a tender smile curling her lips up. "Jack is rather lovely. I didn't know you knew him but he's been working so much, we don't really talk about work when we see each other. We've been... err... seeing each other for a little while, now."

"Hermione and books. Who knew?" He laughed softly.

"Yeah, Lee. He went to some Muggle university during the war, Hermione told me. He loves books almost as much as she does. He might be doing more of the actual printing work than I am. Dunno yet. Maybe we'll trade off. Yeah, I heard about that Quidditch league. But I don't trust Bagman to get it started before my hair turns gray. Might play in a casual league instead, you know? Cedric Diggory said he wanted to do that. I might join him some time."

"I met Jack through Roger Davies. The three of us built an owl barn for Professor Grubbly-Plank before Christmas. If you've not seen much of Jack, I reckon I'm partly to blame because it's my fault he got involved with that blasted barn. He saved my arse plenty on that, so I 'spose I owe him."

"Have you, now?" He smirked. "Good on you, Gin. You seem really happy. I'm happy for you. Jack's a great bloke. But," he leaned toward her, "if he ever hurts you, I'll hex his bollocks off. Just so you know I'm still looking out for you."

It was good catching up with her. He'd have to make more time for her, and for his brothers too. And his mum. Merlin's beard, he'd better get back out there and find his mother before she sent something flying at him for neglecting her.

"Er, better go find Mum," he said, finishing his butterbeer. "I've got to get started on a lot of printing jobs right after Christmas, but I'll owl you after New Year's, okay?" Giving his sister a quick hug, he left the kitchen.

"After New Year's sounds great, Ron." Ginny returned his hug and watched him head off to find their mother. She mentally checked off Ron from the "hex him if he hurts you list" and chuckled since currently only Bill had been on the list. She knew the day was long from being over and she'd hear that may more times, not at all concerned.

Pushing off from the counter, she returned to the living room with a tray of snacks that she laid on the coffee table.
