It had been another long day. Work was hectic, mostly because Wayne was trying to keep up with things in Exeter, so his father wouldn't consider him a failure, as well as working on the Stoatshead location. Thankfully, he had Oliver and Charlie helping there, both of whom had proved to be good choices to hire.

When he'd arrived home, he'd immediately stripped off his shirt and tie before changing into a pair of blue jeans. He almost didn't bother with them, either, but he needed to make dinner and, as much as he enjoyed nudity, he didn't like the idea of certain naked parts flopping around while he cooked.

He was standing in the kitchen trying to figure out what to cook when he heard a knock on the door. No one was due to visit, so he figured maybe Penny was bored and decided to pay a visit. He'd not seen a lot of her lately, so it would be nice to catch up. He left the kitchen and crossed over to look through the peephole.

When he saw who it was, he grinned and opened the door. "Han! What are you doing here? Come on in."

Hannah was astonished when she opened the door to see Wayne nearly naked, except a low-riding pair of jeans. They showed off his stomach and sides and Hannah couldn't help but look. She blushed a little, but then laughed and in order to stave off nervousness, she said, in a friendly tone, "Hey, there, handsome, fancy seeing you here."

Hannah winked at him as she crossed the threshhold. She handed him the bottle of wine and the handkercheif that was tied up with cookies inside. "Do you have a place for my bike seat?" she asked, unsure. "I don't trust leaving it out there for fear someone might steal the whole bike. I put wards on it, but am still afraid someone might find away around it."

"You know, I think this is the first time you've left your castle on the hill to visit, Princess," Wayne teased, moving to the side so she could enter the flat. He took the bottle of wine and something that smelled very much like homemade biscuits from her. Leaning forward, he kissed her cheek and gave her a slight hug.

"If you bring gifts like this every time you visit, you'll have to start dropping by more often," he said. He winked at her and started towards the kitchen so he could pour them some wine.

"You can set it anywhere you'd like. Go ahead and have a seat. I'll get us something to drink."

"Well, I found this Riesling in the wine cellar the Muggles had and figured I should share it with someone... besides, I know how much you love my cooking and there's nothing wrong with cinnamony-sweet biscuits and sweet white German wine!" she said, showing off her dimples.

As he pulled away from hugging her, Hannah smelled something quite pleasant, but she couldn't quite put her finger on what it was. It must have been his cologne.

Hannah sat down on the couch, setting the bike seat on the floor next to the couch, so it would be out of the way.

"This really is quite a lovely flat, Wayne. I'm sorry I've never dropped by before," she said, marvelling at the good taste this young wizard had.

"That's because you never come down from your hilltop retreat," he said. "If you'd slum it with the rest of us sometime, you'd not feel so disconnected."

He rolled his eyes. "Don't expect me to grow out a white beard anytime soon, Scamp."

"That'd be great. Who all do you plan to invite? Or will it just be us and Ernie?" he asked. "What can I bring? I can't cook Christmas stuff for shi--worth a darn, but I can buy something."

"Well, me and you, for sure, most likely Ernie because he'll likely not want to go visiting his parents. And he'll likely want to have Lisa around, as well. Perhaps Cedric if he's not too busy that day, as well, though I haven't talked to him since last week. Perhaps I should send him a note."

She smiled widely, showing off her dimples again. "As for bringing something... I'll cook. Just bring a bottle of wine or spirits for us all to share, yeah?" She poked him in the side and finished off her second glass of wine.

"How about some of those biscuits I brought, eh? They're not bad if I do say so myself... I'm getting to be quite the cook, you know," she winked.

"Yeah, we can ask Cedric. Think he said something about going back to Canada after the holidays, but I'm pretty sure he's here on Christmas. You should send an owl, make sure he's not working too hard."

"I can definitely handle bringing the booze," he teased, resting his cheek against the top of her head. "Since I failed to get Ernie to dance on the table during our little Hufflepuff party, I might have to see if your table can hold his skinny arse."

"Sure. Biscuits would go well with wine, I expect." He summoned the plate and then refilled her glass. He ate one and nodded. "These are great, Han. I think you need to start baking biscuits daily and send me a plate, just because I'm your bestest buddy."

"I doubt you'll get Ern to dance on the table, booze or not, Christmas or no, Lisa or single..." said Hannah, laughing.

"Thanks, I'm just glad you like them. I don't you I'm not a bad cook," she replied. "I dunno about sending you food on a daily basis, but I could handle a dinner date at my place or a picnic once a week or so... for my bestest buddy, that is." Hannah elbowed him in the ribs.
